Seatons Carnauba Wax is a pale yellow natural wax known for its exceptional hardness. It primarily consists of esters of fatty acids (80-85%), fatty alcohols (10-15%), acids (3-6%), and hydrocarbons (1-3%). Notably, carnauba wax contains esterified fatty diols (around 20%), hydroxylated fatty acids (approximately 6%), and cinnamic acid, an antioxidant (about 10%). It has been widely used as an additive in car waxes for its natural hardness and ability to enhance the glossy appearance of well-prepared vehicle paintwork.
