Blachford Calcium Stearate Coarse is a metallic stearate powder formed from a fusion reaction (calcium hydroxide + fatty acid), suitable for use in animal feed applications and are SFSF and FSMA compliant (pending 2021). The Coarse grade is manufactured using tallow-derived stearic acid and is finished differently in order to produce a more granular, lower-dusting product.

Recommended Applications
  • As a heat stabilizer in rigid PVC, improving resin fusion and reducing die swell.
  • In most plastic polymers as a process aid to improve pigment and additive dispersion. In polymers, the product is used as an internal/external lubricant and release agent. Calcium Stearate can also be used as an acid scavenger in most plastics.
  • As a waterproofing agent in textiles and efflorescence control in concrete and brick
  • As an anti-caking additive in Animal Feed and applications where anti-caking and improved flow is required.
  • Compatible resins include: ABS, Nylon, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polystirene, Poly Vinyl Chloride
