AFCONA 4595 is a wetting and dispersing additive for water-based coatings and pigment concentrates. It improves storage stability and prevents negative flocculation effects, such as flooding and floating. It is a high molecular weight polymeric dispersant designed for deflocculation of pigments in water-based decorative and industrial paints.

  • It stabilizes pigments through effective steric hindrance and electric repulsion.
  • AFCONA-4595 is completely water-soluble and does not require neutralization.
  • This product is recommended for all types of pigments. It is also very suitable for transparent iron oxides.
  • Note: For optimum dispersion use no resin in the grinding phase

Application Details

Addition and Dosage : Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment:

  • TiO2 : 4 - 5%
  • Other inorganic pigments : 8 - 12%
  • Organic pigments : 12 - 30%
  • Carbon blacks : 50 - 60%
  • Transparent Iron Oxides : 10 -15%

Incorporation : AFCONA 4595 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.

  • AFCONA 4595 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in its original, unopened container, it will keep up to 3 years from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is indicated on the container.
  • Note: Below 32° F separation or turbidity may occur. Increase temperature to 68° F and mix well before use.
