PerformaSil™ 200 Anti-Graffiti Coating

1 of 3 products in this brand
PerformaSil™ 200 Anti-Graffiti Coating is a single-component, water-based silicone elastomer that dries to form a tough, durable film that provides long-lasting, permanent graffiti and water protection. It cures to form a breathable membrane that is impervious to water and protects surfaces from spray paint, marker, and felt tip pens. Graffiti is easily removed with a power washer, scrub brush, or commercial graffiti cleaners. This coating can eliminate repainting costs and prevent properties from losing value.

Applications & Uses

Application Method
Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
Applications
  • Aggregate panels
  • Concrete, brick, or stucco
  • EIFS and cement plaster
  • Metal
  • Stone
  • Wood
  • Spray or brush application
Surface Preparation and Application
  • Prior to application all surfaces shall be structurally sound, clean, and dry, free from oils, dirt, debris, or minerals such as efflorescence, lime, and calcium.
  • To ensure the surface is as clean as possible, wash with soap and water, rinse thoroughly, then allow to dry completely. This is especially important when applying over painted, stained, or wood surfaces. Mix thoroughly before application.
  • Avoid aggressive agitation that may produce excessive air generation or foaming. Apply using a low-pressure airless spray equipment at a rate of approximately 250 sq ft per gallon. If using a brush, use enough material to create a sufficient film build to achieve a wet film thickness of 5 - 6 mils. When spraying, apply in a cross hatched pattern to ensure complete coverage of the surface.
  • Clean equipment with soap and water when finished.
  • Application Temperature: 40°F - 100°F
  • Relative Humidity: 90% maximum
  • Graffiti resistance is fully developed after a cure time of 7-14 days.
Graffiti Removal

Remove graffiti with a power washer (1300-2175 psi) and cold water. For difficult removal, use warm to hot water while power washing.
For delicate surfaces, use a soft bristle brush, soap, and water. Gently scrub the area until the tagging is removed. Rinse the surface with water afterwards.
For more difficult graffiti, a commercially available graffiti cleaner may be required.

Precautions

Use material in a well-ventilated area. Protect all other areas not to be coated from overspray.
PerformaSilTM 200 Anti-Graffiti Coating should not be applied:

  • When there is a threat of rain within the next 48 hours, or the relative humidity is in excess of 90% (such conditions would not permit complete drying)
  • In temperatures below 40°F or above 100°F
  • On asphaltic materials, or on tar-contaminated masonry
  • On newly applied or green cementitious materials - industry guidelines recommend at least 28 days cure before painting or coating such substrates
