HexPly® M18 has been developed to fulfill the requirements of the aerospace industry for primary structures using standard manufacturing processes. The matrix has improved properties which allow easy layup, good tack life, and a good component surface finish. A low moisture uptake allows good hot/wet performance up to 302°F (150°C) and a general service temperature up to 356°F (180°C).

HexPly® EH25 is a high performance, tough 180°C curing matrix for use in Aerospace primary structures. HexPly® EH25 is a self-extinguishing epoxy resin with controlled flow. HexPly® EH25 prepregs are available with fabric and UD tape.

HexPly® M42 is a high performance, self extinguishing, self adhesive, tough epoxy matrix for use in primary aerospace sandwich structures. It exhibits very high impact resistance and damage tolerance for a wide range of applications. HexPly® M42 is a toughed epoxy resin system supplied with woven glass, carbon and hybrid glass/carbon fibers. HexPly® M42 was developed as a controlled flow system to operate in environments up to 120-130°C.

HexPly® M12 is a good performance, tough epoxy matrix for use in helicopter blades. It exhibits good fatigue life and hot/wet performances up to 100°C. HexPly® M12 is supplied with R-glass UD tape, glass and carbon woven fibers. HexPly® M12 was developed for low exotherm curing, so parts with thickness above 10 cm can be cured directly to 135°C without any exothermal risks.

HexPly® M14 is a modified epoxy resin which provides good adhesion to honeycomb and foam cores. Its selfextinguishing characteristics meet the fire, smoke, and toxicity requirements of aerospace and railway specifications. HexPly® M14 can be used for very large industrial components subjected to severe environmental conditions.

HexPly® M36 is a high performance 180 °C cure matrix developed for aerospace and industrial markets. It can be used in a variety of production techniques (Resin Film Infusion (RFI), prepreg and semipreg) making it easy to process. When cured, HexPly® M36 becomes a tough composite with excellent hot/wet performance. Its low density contributes to increased weight savings, and the flexibility in curing gives potential for composite part cost savings.

HexPly® M49 is a 120°C curing toughened epoxy matrix with good impact resistance suitable for use in performance cars. The matrix is highly tolerant to a wide variety of production techniques and equipment making it easy to process. HexPly® M49 is especially suitable for carbon look applications (eg car interiors).

HexPly® M10E is an epoxy resin system preimpregnated into aramid, glass or graphite multiaxial fabrics and unidirectional fibers. HexPly® M10E prepregs are recommended for the production of low cost, large thicksectioned industrial structures.

HexPly® F185™ is an advanced epoxy formulation designed for autoclave curing to offer very high sandwich and metal bonding strengths with moderate laminate strengths. HexPly® F185™ is a structural adhesive and cocuring grade epoxy resin with a 250°F (121°C) cure. This system offers the highest available fracture toughness and strain to failure of the 250°F (121°C) cure resins.

HexPly® M77CS is a fast curing hotmelt, thermosetting epoxy matrix, specifically designed for prepreg applications at which short cure cycles and clear surfaces are required. M77CS is recommended for curing at 120 – 150°C and is suitable for a range of pressures (5 – 35bar). M77CS can be used for manufacture of industrial components with a clear surface.

HexPly HT93 is a phenolic resin developed to meet such FST (Fire, Smoke, Toxicity) regulations for aircraft interior panels such as: side wall panels, floor panels, galleys, ceiling panels and toilets. HexPly HT93 has very good drape and tack properties. HexPly HT93 prepreg is available in various fabric reinforcements.

HexPly® M77HF prepreg is a fiber-reinforced modified epoxy resin system specifically designed for bladder molding or sheet wrap tube applications. Unique chemistry provides fully cured parts in only 3 minutes at 300°F (149°C).

HexPly® 954-3A is a 350ºF (177ºC) curing cyanate resin with a 400ºF (204ºC) glass transition temperature. Standard cure is two hours at 350ºF (177ºC). Glass transition temperatures can be maximized by a free-standing post cure at 450ºF (232ºC). HexPly® 954-3A is a controlled flow cyanate resin designed for autoclave and vacuum bag curing. HexPly® 954-3A can be impregnated on all available fibers and fabrics. The recommended lay-up procedure for HexPly® 954-3A is HSP-L3. The recommended cure procedure is HSP-C1. Typical applications for HexPly® 954-3A are primary and secondary space structures where dimensional stability and low moisture absorption are required.

HexPly® M56 is a high performance epoxy matrix developed for out-of-autoclave curing of composite aircraft structures.

HexPly® M73 is a 350°F (177°C) curing toughened resin with 350°F (177°C) dry and 270°F (132°C) wet service capabilities. HexPly® M73 is formulated for autoclave or press molding and can be cured at 350°F for six hours. A two-hour cure at 350°F with two-hour post-cure at 390°F may also be used. Unidirectional tape and woven fabric impregnated with HexPly® M73 resin will retain tack for 10 or more days at room temperature.

HexTool® M81 Tooling Compound is randomly layered strips of uni-directional prepreg which is consolidated into rolled goods. It can be utilized as multi-ply quasi-isotropic hand lay-up, and subsequently CNC milled to close tolerance. HexTool® M81 has proved to be dimensionally stable with the ability to hold vacuum integrity before and after machining. Fabricated from Hexcel’s epoxy resin HexPly® M81, HexTool® M81 tools are ideally suited for 120°C to 150°C cure carbon fiber tools but can also accept several cure cycles at 180°C. This makes them also lighter weight, more energy efficient than tools made of steel or aluminum but also more cost-effective with tighter mold tolerance than standard composites tools.

HexPly® M20 is an epoxy structural prepreg, designed to provide high temperature performance combined with a low energy cure cycle. Due to its processing flexibility (vacuum bag or autoclave) it is ideally suitable for composite repair. HexPly® M20 cures at 130°C (265°F) to form a tough, high temperature resistant fibrereinforced composite. HexPly® M20 has been chosen as a standardized repair material by the Commercial Aircraft Composite Repair Committee (CACRC) which sets global aerospace standards for composite repair. HexPly® M20 is available as woven carbon and UD carbon tape for structural repairs. The pre-impregnated woven glass version is used for non-structural galvanic corrosion protection.

HexPly® XF3 is a new range of epoxy surface film providing excellent surface finish and requiring minimum preparation for painting. It is suitable for automotive parts that require an excellent surface finish. HexPly® XF3 is co-curable with a range of HexPly® prepregs that can cure at 120°C and 180°C. It is available in 300 gsm.

M74 is a high flow, 350°F (177°C) curing epoxy resin with extensive space structural heritage*. M74 is formulated for autoclave processing, but it has been successfully processed by press molding. Unidirectional tape and woven fabric impregnated with M74 resin will retain good tack and drape for at least 10 days at 70°F (21°C). Standard cure is for two hours at 350°F (177°C). Hexcel recommended lay-up procedure is HSP-L1 or HSP-L2. Recommended cure procedure is HSP-C1 or HSP-C2.

HexPly® M91 is a high performance, very tough epoxy matrix for use in aerospace primary structures and engines. HexPly® M91 is a toughened, controlled flow, epoxy resin system supplied with unidirectional fibers.

HexPly® M95 is an epoxy resin which meets flammability, smoke, toxicity and heat release requirements for aircraft interiors. It is an alternative to raditional phenolic resins with the advantages of being REACH compliant, providing better mechanical properties and improving the surface aspect. HexPly® M95 epoxy resin is a high Tg epoxy system allowing hot in/hot out extremely fast cure cycles in press. It is an excellent mechanical performance epoxy resin system, suitable for structural and semi-structural parts in the cabin interior with high production rates.

HexPly® M10R is a formulated epoxy resin which is suitable for low pressure molding processes. HexPly® M10R is very versatile and allows a range of processing temperature from 85°C up to 150°C. HexPly® M10R can be used for very large industrial components subjected to several environmental conditions and exhibits a very long shelf life at room temperature. HexPly® M10R is used extensively for structural marine applications, recreational markets and a wide variety of industrial applications. HexPly® M10R fulfills REACH compliance.

HexPly® 6268 is a modified epoxy resin which provides good adhesion to honeycomb core. It is a selfextinguishing matrix system offering good toughness, which is used for aircraft primary and secondary structures. HexPly® 6268 is available in UD carbon and woven aramid, glass and carbon.

HexPly® 924 is a controlled flow epoxy matrix developed for the fabrication of high temperature resistant primary structures. When cured, HexPly® 924 becomes a tough composite with high impact resistance and damage tolerance. It is particularly suitable for aircraft primary structures and elevated temperature applications such as performance cars.

HexPly® F593 is a modified 350°F (177°C) curing epoxy system with very low flow for carbon fabric and tape applications that provides excellent laminate and honeycomb sandwich properties. As a low flow resin, HexPly® F593 lends itself to net resin, zero bleed applications. HexPly® F593’s low flow minimizes sandwich part porosity.

HexPly® 996 is a 350ºF (177ºC) curing cyanate siloxane resin with a 330ºF (165ºC) glass transition temperature. Standard cure is two hours at 350ºF (177ºC). HexPly® 996 can be autoclave and press cured. HexPly® 996 can be impregnated on all available fibers and fabrics. The recommended lay-up procedure for HexPly® 996 is HSP-L3. The recommended cure procedure is HSP-C1 or HSP-C6. Typical applications for HexPly® 996 are primary and secondary space structures where the optimum dimensional stability and lowest moisture absorption are required.

HexPly® 914 is a highly successful modified epoxy matrix which is used extensively in high temperature resistant primary aircraft structures. The controlled melt viscosity and excellent matrix rheology of HexPly® 914 permits a wide range of processing conditions for high quality components.

HexPly® M26T is an advance modified epoxy resin developed for aerospace and industrial markets.Its controlled flow, high peel strength on honeycomb cores and excellent fire behavior give it a cost saving potential for interior and secondary sandwich structures. Combined with HexPly® M25 glass phenolic prepregs, it is qualified to Airbus specifications.

HexPly® M9.1H is a hotmelt, thermosetting, high tack epoxy resin matrix, specifically designed for prepreg applications at which short cure cycles of 100°C and above are required. M9.1H can be used for manufacture of large industrial components, suitable for cure of thin and thick sections. M9.1H exhibits a long out-life at ambient conditions.

HexPly® F263 is a structural, heat resistant epoxy resin formulated for excellent translation of high modulus carbon fiber properties in typical aerospace applications. HexPly® F263 is a high temperature, aerospace grade, epoxy resin for HMG with a 350°F (177°C) core.

HexPly® M77 is a fast curing hotmelt, thermosetting epoxy resin matrix, specifically designed for prepreg applications at which short cure cycles are required. M77 is recommended for curing at 120 – 150°C and is suitable for a range of pressures (5 – 35bar). M77 can be used for manufacture of large industrial components, suitable for cure of thin and thick sections.

HexPly® 920 is a very tough advanced resin matrix, ideally suited to the single-shot production of honeycomb sandwich structures and the manufacture of solid laminates. It is highly tolerant of a variety of production techniques and equipment, making it easy to process. The high toughness of HexPly 920 makes it ideal for industrial applications and performance cars. It is available preimpregnated into carbon, glass or aramid fibers.

HexPly® M9.6H-LT is a hotmelt, thermosetting, ultra-low tack epoxy resin matrix, specifically designed for prepreg applications at which short cure cycles of 100°C and above are required. M9.6H-LT can be used for manufacture of large industrial components, suitable for cure of thin and thick sections. M9.6H-LT exhibits a long out-life at ambient conditions.

HexPly® M27 is specifically designed for applications with fast curing cycles. It is ideally suited for high volume production techniques—in particular for ski manufacture. HexPly® M27 has been specially developed for UDprepregs with high glass fiber weights, e.g., 1637–6548 lbs/ft2 (500–2000 g/m2).

HexPly® 922-1 is a structural epoxy resin for general industrial applications and aerospace applications. HexPly® 922-1 has an exceptionally good hot/wet performance and a very high Tg with cure cycle versatility, low viscosity and high flow. Hexply® 922-1 can be processed using a wide range of techniques. The HexPly® 922-1 family is available in fabrics and UD tapes.
