"We have been traveling all over the world for our herbs and spices since 1899. As early as 1899, Antonij ten Doesschate set up a company in Zwolle in herbs, spices and other pharmaceutical items on the Thorbeckegracht. In 1969 the company came into American hands. And in the 1990s, we gained a lot of knowledge by integrating into a worldwide spice network. Since 1998 there is again a Dutch management that focuses on quality spices, flavor development and the expansion of the service package. 

This has provided us with a strong network of suppliers and a nose for rich, pure and honest flavors. We stand for responsible business, wherever we are in the world. Developing beautiful flavors is paramount, but we find the collection of healthy, sustainable and safe ingredients at least as important.

With our four lines of Original Spices , World Blends, High-Quality Herbs and High-Quality Spices , we have selected the best of the best for you. Without unnecessary additives. Just herbs and spices as nature intended. Thanks to the unique freeze-drying process, the green herbs are optimally preserved in terms of taste, color and structure.

African braai is a blend from South Africa. Braai or grilling, through the preparation of 'braais', is an important part of South African food culture. This rich and warm blend is characterized by ingredients such as coffee and coconut. It is delicious for flavoring meat as a rub or marinade, but also suitable for vegetables.

Al Andalus is a spice blend based on an old Moorish recipe. This full, sweet blend is characterized by ingredients such as smoked paprika and cumin seeds. It forms the basis for tasty dishes with a southern Spanish hue. It is delicious for paella or use as a seasoning in a fresh salad.

Mole is based on a traditional Mexican recipe. This warm, full-bodied blend is characterized by ingredients such as cocoa and chipotle. The blend goes well with poultry and beef. It is delicious in combination with tacos or enchiladas, but also delicious as a base for a sauce with roasted corn or jalapeños.

Laurel has a fairly strong taste, but does not dominate quickly. Despite the somewhat bitter taste, bay leaves fit in many dishes. The strongly aromatic scent makes other flavors come into their own. The leaves can be gently cooked for hours, only to be removed at the end. Our laurel is 100% pure nature.

Oregano brings warmth with a touch of lemon to the dish. Oregano is a good accompaniment in Italian, Mexican and Greek dishes. The seasoning on pizzas, together with red pepper in chili con carne and in gyros. Also great to combine with, for example, thyme and basil. When we talk about oregano, we actually mean wild marjoram (Origanum vulgare), a perennial from the lip flower family and native to the Mediterranean region.
