- Product Highlights
- Maverix™ Solutions has developed unique mold release technology to exceed the rigorous demands of manufacturing advanced composites. The chemistry forms a ceramic-like coating that withstands very high temperatures (1,450°F), which is needed for today’s resin systems that require long cure cycles at elevated temperatures.
- Mavcoat® technology provides a simple, yet sophisticated mold release chemistry for operators to employ by giving the industry a single-coat, water-based or solvent-based coating that does not require sealers or primers. Just coat and mold.
- Unique Technology - Mavcoat® Mold Release Coatings for composites are designed to simplify the production process. Although we offer sealers, they are not critical to part release or finish. The coatings can act as sealers and are released in a single step, so only one product is needed. Operators can begin production as soon as Mavcoat® has uniformly coated and cured on the mold. Finished parts exit the mold cleanly and easily. And due to its inert chemistry, Mavcoat® provides release for all thermosets in pre-preg, transfer, mandrel-built, filament winding, and wet layup processes.
- Mavcoat® mold release coatings bring the release power of the aerospace industry to the fiberglass world by providing a semi-permanent, multiple release system with just a single coat. Together with our cleaners, sealers, and mold release coatings operators have a system that meets all their mold preparation needs.
- It is critical to maintain the quality of a mold’s finish to ensure excellent surface cosmetics of finished parts. As a result, every Maverix mold cleaner has been engineered to remove resin buildup from tools without attack and with minimal abrasion even on the finish of class A finished molds. Depending on your need or preference solvent-based and water-based formulations are available.
- Even after significant time and curing, composites molds are very porous. Sealers act to fill these microscopic crevasses that can act as mechanical binding sites. Sealers are “insurance” for mold release coatings so parts have little to no chance of sticking. Sealing a mold also increases tool life by becoming part of the tool itself and acts as an interface to accept the mold release coating.
