Beta-Glucan M™ also called “Sodium Carboxymethyl Beta-Glucan” is the sodium salt of a carboxymethyl ether of Beta-Glucan. It is commonly used as a binding agent and rheological modifier in personal care formulations. It is known to soothe irritated skin, support the skin’s own antioxidant activity, protect the skin from environmental damage, and help the skin to retain moisture.

T-Hexuron™ is a stable form of Vitamin C, more specifically, it is the tetra-ester of ascorbic acid and isopalmitic acid. T-Hexuron™ is oil-soluble, which means it not only penetrates the epidermis (the uppermost layer of your skin), but also goes farther into the dermis, the deeper layer—which is where it needs to be to stimulate collagen production. Finally, T-Hexuron™ is also known to clarify and brighten the skin by inhibiting melanogenesis (the production of pigment) thereby promoting a more even skin tone.

Nuovo-Proline-16™ is a C16, C16 carboxyl derivative of the amino acid hydroxypro-line. Dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline promotes collagen synthesis and enhances skin tone. Additionally, it is an excellent moisturizer and functions as an anti-oxidant.

SAP-Hexuron™ (SAP) is a stable vitamin C derivative that is cleaved enzymatically in the skin to release active vitamin C. It is produced by direct phosphorylation of ascorbic acid sodium salt where I-acorbic acid is suspended in oxygenated, nonhydroxylic solvent together with sodium and then treated with a phosphorylating agent. SAP-Hexuron™ is soluble in water and does not degrade in aqueous formulas. It is also an antioxidant that reduces oxidative stress by neutralizing free radicals, effectively slowing down the aging process and formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

MacDerma™ AZA (Azelaic Acid) is a saturated dicarboxylic acid that exists as a white powder. Azelaic Acid is commonly derived from natural ingredients such as wheat, rye, and barley. It can also come from the Malassezia furfur (also known as Pityrosporum ovale), which is a yeast that lives on normal skin. It is the bacterial degradation of nonanoic acid that yields azelaic acid. MacDerma™ AZA has been known to reduce the appearance of skin discoloration and redness, acne, and other skin blemishes.

Macamin™ NC (Niacinamide) is vitamin B3, an essential nutrient. It provides both nutritional and topical benefits. As a skin care active, niacinamide can improve the appearance of hyperpigmented skin, reduce redness, fine lines and wrinkles, smooth skin texture and enhance skin barrier properties.

McKinley Collagen HF™ is a mostly type I natural soluble collagen processed from ovine solely sourced from Australia which is designated as a disease-free country by the USDA. Type I and III collagen are key components for a healthy skin microenvironment to maintain elasticity and promote wound healing for damaged skin due to cuts, abrasions, and environmental factors. Aged skin has lower collagen density, a higher percentage of collagen type III, and is fragile because of fragmentation and loss of type I collagen fibrils which confer strength and resiliency. NuovoCare™ contains up to 75% 1,3-β glycosidic bonds compared to approximately 30% in beta glucan from sources such as oat and mushroom.
