Acrylic Bead Resins BR-117 is a thermoplastic acrylic resin, with white non-dusting bead form, specially designed for heat sealed adhesives and inks. It has excellent adhesion for metals and plastics. It is also easy to be soluble to aliphatic and alcoholic mixed solvents.   *Acrylic Bead Resins is provided by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, a member of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group.

  • *Solution composition:
    • Acryl / VMCH (VINNOL H15/45M, Wacker) = 70 / 30 wt.%
    • Solid content: 22%
    • Solvent : Ethyl acetate / Acetone = 80 / 20 wt.%
  • **Coating condition:
    • Thickness: approx. 6μm
    • Coated on glossy side of aluminum foil
    • Dried for 3 min. at 180°C.
  • ***Heat seal condition:
    • 2.2 (kgf/cm2), 0.5 sec. at 150, 180 and 200°C
    • Head surface : flat type
  • ****Peel test condition:
    • 250mm/min.
    • Test sample width :15mm
Evaluation Results

Peel strength of BR-117 and MB-8031 are similar to competitor’s over temperature from 150 to 200°C.

Preparation Method

When Dissolving in Solvent:

  1. Prepare a predetermined amount of solvent and start stirring.
  2. Gradually add Beads Resin and stir.
  3. If the solvent does not dissolve with stirring, heat the solvent to 40-60°C.
