- Properties and Applications
EDAPLAN LA 402 is suitable for all aqueous and solvent-based coating and printing ink systems. It is supplied as water insoluble acid and has to be neutralized before use. The polymer is compatible with all common resin systems.
Advantages of using EDAPLAN LA 402:
- Improves gloss and reduces haze
- Non-silicone
- Water resistance is not affected
- Prevents surface defects
- Recommended Levels and Use
Ladder studies are recommended to determine optimum levels. To improve leveling of paints the normal dosage ranges from 0.5 to 3.0 % on total formulation. In highly alkaline aqueous systems direct addition as supplied is possible. In other systems EDAPLAN LA 402 is added preferably in a neutralized form.
Neutralizing of 100 g EDAPLAN LA 402 requires: 3.6 - 4.2 g NaOH or 6.6 - 8.0 g NH3 (25 %) A volatile neutralizer is preferred for best water resistance properties.
