Ray and Helen Juhl of Middle River, Minnesota, founded Natural Way Mills in 1973. They fulfilled their dream of providing an alternative to the 20th century diet of additive-laden, processed foods. Natural Way Mills currently processes and markets ORGANIC, NON-GMO whole grains, flours, and cereals. They also do specialty milling. The Juhls purchased a large grain farm near the Red River Valley of the North in 1954. Working with Jack Zachary, an experienced miller of many years from St. Paul, MN, the present mill was built and uses a unique process not used in any other mills. This secret system does the following two things. keeps all the original nutrients, (2) produces a dryer product that extends the shelf life without adding preservatives.

Organic Oat Flour is an excellent “whole grain source” for use in many baking applications. Oat flour can be used to replace up to 20% of the flour in most baked goods for a unique flavor and increased nutrition.

Natural Way Mills Organic Oat Flour

Organic Whole Wheat Pastry Flour is low-protein flour made for baking when baking powder or baking soda is the leavening agent. Whole wheat pastry flour is different from regular whole wheat flour. Whole wheat pastry flour is milled from soft white wheat that has less protein than whole wheat flour ground from hard red wheat. It is for bakers who want to use whole grains, but need a lighter touch, and a lighter flavor. Our 100% whole wheat flour is great for breads, but a little heavy for cookies and muffins. So when you want to make blueberry muffins, pumpkin quick bread or chewy chocolate chip cookie, and even pie crust, pastry flour is a good choice. Organic Gold N White Flouris similar to all-purpose flour in texture, but very nutritious, because it contains the germ. This is where most of the nutrition is. It has a creamy white color and makes lovely creamy-white bread. Our Gold N White flour is stone ground; this system produces a dryer product that extends the shelf life without adding preservatives. You can use this flour in all recipes that uses all-purpose flour, just know because the germ is left in, it will require either a little more liquid or use ¼ cup less in your standard recipes.
