- A uniquely Australian oil, Buddha Wood oil is a deep, coppery, red-brown in color with a woody aroma. Also known as the Australian Desert Rose, this tree is named after Sir Thomas Mitchell – a nineteenth century explorer and botanist and can be found in the arid regions of New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. It has been used for thousands of years by Indigenous Australians for medicinal and cultural purposes (smoking ceremonies). Buddha Wood oil is steam distilled from the wood of the Eremophila Mitchellii, which is sustainably harvested and has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and insecticidal properties.

- Buddha Wood oil is a base note with great fixative quality, and a beautiful woody, soothing aroma, making it popular in the fragrance industry. Buddha wood is particularly popular in men’s products for its masculine scent. It is soothing and anti-inflammatory, making it a valued addition to skin care and products for inflamed and sensitive skin. Buddha Wood oil is also used in aromatherapy, diffuser blends, soaps, candles, bath products and massage blends.

- It is recommended to do a skin patch test to check for a possible allergic reaction, before using certain oils in large quantities on the skin.
