Roflam P (TCPP) is a widely used flame retardant in the plastics industry, especially in polyurethane processing. It is one of the most effective flame retardants due to the presence of chlorine and phosphorus in the chemical structure. In addition, due to the synergy of Roflam P with flame retardants, such as antimony trioxide and melamine, materials with very high fire resistance can be obtained.

Properties and Applications

Used in the plastics industry as a substance reducing combustibility especially in polyurethanes. It is also recommended for epoxy resins, unsaturated polyester resins as well as for phenolics.

  • effective flame retardant for polyurethane materials, epoxy resins, vinyl ester resins and unsaturated polyester resins
  • synergy effect with powder flame retardants (including antimony trioxide, melamine)
  • excellent miscibility and compatibility of the product with liquid raw materials
  • reduction of viscosity of the formulation based on high molecular weight polyols
  • obtaining rigid polyurethane foams that meet the requirements of DIN 4102-1 norm (class B2) and have good physical and mechanical parameters
  • the possibility of obtaining flame-retardant materials based on epoxy resins, vinyl ester resins and unsaturated polyester resins
  • improvement of the production process of rigid polyurethane foams
  • reduction of production costs
  • construction industry – assembly foams, pre-insulated pipes, chemical anchors, adhesives, varnishes, protective coatings, construction panels, thermal insulation of buildings, acoustic insulation of rooms, decorative elements
  • transport sector- thermal insulation of refrigerated vehicles, acoustic insulation of vehicles
  • refrigeration industry – thermal insulation of industrial cold stores
  • C
  • ASE – coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers
