STRUKTOL® EP 52 is a processing additive designed for use in EPDM, butyl, and halobutyl rubber compounds. It is a blend of rubber compatible non-hardening synthetic resins and fatty acid soaps, and is effective at improving extrusion uniformity and preventing surging while smoothing out the extrudate. It is also useful in improving flow and smoothness of molded and calendered compounds. STRUKTOL® EP 52 can be added early in the mix cycle with the elastomer or with the fillers to aid dispersion of the compounding ingredients.
