Jungbunzlauer Suisse AGJungbunzlauer Suisse AG Tricalcium Citrate (TCC)
    • INCI Name:Calcium Citrate
    • Ingredient Name:Citric Acid
    • Functions:Mineral Source, Buffers & pH Stabilizer, Diluent, Binder, Mineral Source, Stabilizer, Chelating Agent, Firming Agent, Supplement
    • Dosage Form:Syrups, Suspension, Emulsions, Capsules, Tablets
    • Synonyms:Calcium citrate tetrahydrate, Tricalcium dicitrate tetrahydrate
Jungbunzlauer Suisse AG Tricalcium Citrate (TCC) meets the requirements of the US Pharmacopeia (USP), the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012 always in their latest versions. In some countries such as USA, tricalcium citrate is simply denominated calcium citrate. It is produced by complete neutralization of citric acid with a high purity calcium source such as calcium hydroxide or calcium carbonate. With its high calcium content of 21%, tricalcium citrate is the most economic calcium salt among the commonly used organic calcium salts. Tricalcium citrate is supplied as a white, odorless, crystalline powder or fine powder. It is slightly soluble in water and freely soluble in diluted hydrochloric acid. In contrary to other salts, tricalcium citrate is better soluble at lower temperatures (so-called "inverse solubility"). It is practically insoluble in alcohol. During heat treatment, it is less reactive than other calcium salts due to its inverse solubility. With regard to its significantly better bioavailability, tricalcium citrate is preferred over inorganic calcium sources such as calcium carbonate or calcium phosphate.

Jungbunzlauer Suisse AGJungbunzlauer Suisse AG Potassium Gluconate
    • INCI Name:Potassium Gluconate
    • Ingredient Name:Potassium Gluconate
    • Functions:Chelating Agent, Mineral Source, Supplement, Buffers & pH Stabilizer, Alkalizing Agent, Mineral Source
    • CAS Number:299-27-4
    • Dosage Form:Tablets
Jungbunzlauer Suisse AG Potassium Gluconate is supplied in accordance with the requirements of the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), the US Pharmacopeia (USP) and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012 always in their latest versions.Potassium gluconate is the potassium salt of gluconic acid, which is obtained from glucose by fermentation and subsequent neutralization with a potassium source. Potassium gluconate is recommended for introducing or enriching potassium in food, especially in dietetic food. Furthermore the product acts as a buffer salt and as a salt replacer in foodstuffs where sodium salts are not desired. In pharmaceuticals, it serves as a potassium source against potassium deficiency or as a systemic alkaliser. Potassium gluconate is also used in technical applications e.g. as sequestering agent in textiles or for galvanic surface treatment. Potassium gluconate is a free flowing, white to slightly yellow, crystalline powder with a slightly bitter taste.Furthermore, it is non-toxic and possesses good physiological compatibility so that it may be used in food and pharmaceutical products. Jungbunzlauer potassium gluconate is supplied in its anhydrous form and shows little hygroscopic behavior. Aqueous solutions of potassium gluconate resist oxidation and reduction, even at high temperatures, and are not corrosive. It is easily biologically degradable and consequently, provides no wastewater problem. The directly compressible form potassium gluconate shows optimal tableting properties due to its amorphous structure.

Jungbunzlauer Suisse AGJungbunzlauer Suisse AG Trisodium Citrate Anhydrous
    • INCI Name:Potassium Citrate
    • Chemical Name:Citric Acid Trisodium Salt
    • CAS Number:68-04-2
    • Functions:Buffers & pH Stabilizer, Mineral Source, Supplement, Desiccant, Stabilizer, Chelating Agent, Mineral Source, Emulsifier, Emulsifier
    • Chemical Family:Organic Salts
    • Synonyms:Trisodium Citrate, Trisodium Citrate
Jungbunzlauer Suisse AG Trisodium Citrate Anhydrous is supplied in accordance with the current requirements of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012. It is produced by complete neutralization of citric acid with high purity sodium hydroxide or carbonate and subsequent crystallization and dehydration. The common hydrate form, trisodium citrate dihydrate, is widely used in foods, beverages and various technical applications mainly as buffering, sequestering or emulsifying agent. Jungbunzlauer trisodium citrate anhydrous is manufactured from trisodium citrate dihydrate. Water molecules of the dihydrate crystals are removed by a patented process without destroying the original crystal matrix. The resulting crystals have a porous matrix that can be used as a carrier for inorganic and/or organic substances like perfumes and surfactants. Due to its low water content trisodium citrate anhydrous does not add water to the formulation. It has even the excellent ability to take up surplus water from moisture sensitive formulations thus providing better shelf life to the end product. Therefore, trisodium citrate anhydrous finds its particular uses in water sensitive formulations like instant drinks as well as tablets and powders in pharmaceuticals and detergents. Trisodium citrate anhydrous occurs as white, granular crystals or as white, crystalline powder. It is freely soluble in water and practically insoluble in ethanol (96 %). It is a non-toxic, neutral salt with low reactivity. It is chemically stable if stored at ambient temperatures. Trisodium citrate anhydrous is fully biodegradable and can be disposed of with regular waste or sewage.

Jungbunzlauer Suisse AGJungbunzlauer Suisse AG Sodium Gluconate
    • INCI Name:Sodium Gluconate
    • CAS Number:527-07-1
    • Functions:Taste Masker, Chelating Agent, Buffers & pH Stabilizer, Cleansing Agent
    • Synonyms:Gluconic Acid Sodium Salt, Monosodium D-Gluconate, Monosodium Gluconate, Sodium (2R,3S,4R,5R)-2,3,4,5,6-Pentahydroxyhexanoate
Jungbunzlauer Suisse AG Sodium Gluconate is supplied in accordance with the latest requirements of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) and of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012.Sodium gluconate is the sodium salt of gluconic acid, produced by fermentation of glucose. It is a white to tan, granular to fine, crystalline powder, very soluble in water. Non corrosive, non-toxic and readily biodegradable (98 % after 2 days), sodium gluconate is more and more appreciated as chelating agent. The outstanding property of sodium gluconate is its excellent chelating power, especially in alkaline and concentrated alkaline solutions. It forms stable chelates with calcium, iron, copper, aluminum and other heavy metals, and in this respect, it surpasses all other chelating agents, such as EDTA, NTA and related compounds.Aqueous solutions of sodium gluconate are resistant to oxidation and reduction, even at high temperatures. However, it is easily degraded biologically (98 % after 2 days), and thus presents no wastewater problem.Sodium gluconate is also a highly efficient set retarder and a good plasticiser / water reducer for concrete, mortar and gypsum. And last but not least, it has the property to inhibit bitterness in foodstuffs.
