DOWSIL(TM) 5562 Carbinol Fluid is a carbinol-functional silicone fluid. This material is unique due to its polar organic substituents. DOWSIL(TM) ES-5226 DM Formulation Aid is an ethoxylated and propoxylated silicone surfactant. DOWSIL(TM) ES-5226 DM Formulation Aid is a 37.5% dispersion of silicone polyether in a low-viscosity, volatile dimethicone fluid.

ACULYN(TM) 2051 Rheology Modifier is an inverse (water-in-oil) emulsion of sodium polyacrylate in dimethicone. This emulsion contains two surfactants, one to stabilize the thickening agent and the other to help bring the polymer into contact with the aqueous phase of the formulation. When the product is added to water, the polymer expands into the water phase to thicken and give stability to the preparation. As the formulation thickens, the oil-phase ingredients are emulsified and stabilized.

XIAMETER(TM) PMX-200 Silicone Fluid 12,500 cSt is a high-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane polymer manufactured to yield essentially linear polymers in a wide range of viscosities. The viscosities generally used in formulating polishes are in the range of 100 to 30,000 cSt. It is preferable to use a blend of a low-viscosity fluid and a high-viscosity fluid (e.g. 3 parts XIAMETER(TM) PMX- 200 Silicone Fluid 100 cSt and 1 part XIAMETER(TM) PMX-200 Silicone Fluid 12,500 cSt) to obtain optimum results in terms of ease of application and depth of gloss. The low-viscosity silicone fluid acts as a lubricant to make polish application and rubout easier, whereas the high-viscosity silicone fluid produces a greater depth of gloss. Since these polymers are inherently water-repellent, they will cause water to bead up on a treated surface rather than penetrate the polish film.
