In 1938, we established our corporate headquarters, NICCA Chemical Company, in Fukui, Japan. In 1988, NICCA U.S.A., INC. was established in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, with the goal of becoming the premier North American developer and manufacturer of textile chemicals.

Our core business is providing high performance specialty chemistry to textile manufacturers and other industries in the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and Europe.

"Carbon Fiber Remanufacturing (CFR) develops alternatives to land filling of excess post industrial carbon fiber materials by development of improved and new products in industrial, commercial and retail product applications utilizing reclaimed carbon fiber. The composites industry estimates that 30% of carbon fibers become excess or part of the waste stream in the manufacturing process. CFR processes reclaimed carbon fiber from fabric selvage, preform, and tow (loose or on tubes) by de-tangling, milling, cutting and preparing the materials for use in certain product applications developed in teamwork with manufacturing clients. Critical to CFR’s ability to manage these carbon fiber waste streams is the ongoing development of best uses and new markets for remanufactured carbon fiber composite material forms. CFR was established in 2011 to develop a comprehensive recycling program for high tech carbon fibers in service to a world-wide base of manufacturers in the composites and aerospace industries."

Countless types of chemical additives are known, some containing large numbers within each chemical class. Antioxidants, UV Absorbers, Hindered Amine light stabilizers, flame retardants, internal lubricants, mold releases, impact modifiers, and anti-stats are just a few of the additives that interact in a polymer matrix. Picking the wrong combination can lead to catastrophic product failure. Conversely, selecting the right combination will unlock synergistic effects and can show significant performance enhancements. 

Another consideration often overlooked is proper dispersion, packaging and product form which can reduce cycle times, lower energy costs, and increase product performance.

Ivanhoe Industries, Inc. is a privately held, family owned specialty chemical manufacturer located in Zion, IL which is equal distance between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI. Our product line consists of foam control agents, non-ionic surfactants, release agents and hydrophobic silica that are used as additives in a wide range of consumer packaged goods and chemical formulations. Ivanhoe’s market focus is predominately food processing, fermentation, and agricultural applications, but we are developing industrial markets such as oil field, lubricants, and wastewater treatment applications. Ivanhoe has always utilized bio-based raw materials to manufacture our products and always consider sustainable and environmentally friendly concepts in our product development. We are backwards integrated into many of our raw materials and look to offer highly concentrated and efficient foam control agents, and precision dosing systems to reduce cost, reduce carbon footprint, and create new value for our customers.
