XELIGHT™ thermoplastic composites represent the product family of ultra-light structural compounds lightened and developed on Pebax®. ELASTOSIL® R solid silicone rubber grades are peroxide-curing. They can be processed by conventional methods, such as extrusion, calendering, compression and transfer molding, or injection molding. They cure in heat and are ideal for manufacturing a variety of silicone rubber articles.

Often, fillers have to meet very special requirements. In such cases not only good dispersion characteristics are of importance, but also mechanical and dynamic properties of the final products. Improved electrical insulation resistance, better aging and fluid resistance in many materials and improved anticorrosion properties have a crucial role to play in many areas. At Hoffmann Mineral, we developed Aktisil to meet such customer requirements. This special filler is made by treating the surface of Neuburg Siliceous Earth with chemical agents, mostly silanes. The reaction by-products (e.g. alcohol) formed during the manufacture of the different products of Aktisil are largely removed right away during the process. The coupling reaction fixes the silane to the surface of the filler. Any undesirable side-effects that can occur during mixing by direct addition of the silane are virtually eliminated. So the customer can choose from a complete product range of many different types of Aktisil. This is the result of many years of in-house experience and of close cooperation with customers. Fibertec mineral wool fibers are inorganic synthetic fibers that have been specifically milled and processed to controlled lengths and with predictable diameters and aspect ratios. These mineral fibers are generated from complex mineral silicates having as primary components silicates of calcium, magnesium and aluminum. Fibertec mineral fibers can be surface treated to enhance performance in selected resin systems. urther, because these fibers are additionally characterized by very low loose and tapped bulk densities, they are desirable for low-density reinforced thermoset and thermoplastic systems.

Technora® is eight times as strong as steel, and has high modulus, as well as great heat and chemical resistance. Because of its high-performance properties, this fiber is primarily used for industrial and reinforcement applications.

FORMATAL is the brand of technopolymers that identifies POM Homo/COPO ( Acetal Resin) compounds manufactured by us. It is a high performance grade of Homopolymer Acetal Resin for universal use that brings together all of our know-how, from the selection of the best raw materials, to overseeing the production process to the quality control of the finished product. In comparison to the copolymer grade, it is characterized by superior hardness and mechanical strength. It generally possesses excellent creep characteristics and good resistance to wear. Spectabio grades are biopolymer compounds significantly reinforced with bamboo fiber, husk, wheat straw, wood powder or any natural fiber.

E-CTFE is a linear block copolymer and belongs to the group of amorphous high-performance plastics. It is highly UV and weather resistant and also withstands high-energy (radioactive) radiation. Ethylen-Chlortrifluorethylene exhibits an extraordinary impact strength at temperatures ranging from -76 °C to +150 °C. A great part of the product properties attributes to the very smooth surface and differentiates HALAR® from other fluoropolymers. Due to the fact that E-CTFE is very pure, this material is being used to process chemicals and ultrapure water for the semiconductor industry. Also the permeation resistance to oxygen, carbon dioxide, chlorine gas and hydrochlorid acid is 10 to 100 times better than PTFE.

The Perma-New technology family comprises customized formulations designed to meet your specific coating and usage requirements. Our technologies include heat and UV curing, as well as anti-fog and weatherable hardcoatings. In addition, coatings can be created in a range of gloss values, from fully glossy to non-glare, semi-gloss and satin finishes. Coatings can be adjusted to closely match the requirements of different coating methods and equipment. Coverage varies based on the thickness of the coating, which in turn varies by the solids content of the coating and application method. All coatings are custom formulated & manufactured to order and can be supplied in containers from 1 to 55 gallons.

This amber-colored, transparent material belongs to the group of amorphous high-performance plastics. Polysulfone has a good heat deflection temperature and heat aging resistance (-100 °C to +160 °C). In addition, this material has a high hardness and strength, very good hydrolytic stability and high radiation resistance (permeable to microwaves up to 2.45 GHz). PSU also has high dimensional stability and resistance to β- and γ-, X-rays and infrared rays. However, PSU is not UV stable and notch sensitive.

Styrene-butadiene block copolymers are polymerized in solution and present different structures, linear, radial and multiarm. They are free flowing materials that show different viscosities to adapt their properties to the multiple applications where they can be used in. Lower linear molecular weight grades offer very good flowability, are appreciated for their transparency and easy processability. Radial grades show higher melt strength, and offer higher mechanical properties with a high modification performance. Multiarm grades show a combination of low viscosity with temperature resistance. This performance make them suitable for a wide range of applications such as technical compounding, adhesives and sealants, bitumen modification for road pavements and waterproofing membranes. They are also used in shoe sole applications and polymer modification. They comply with different food contact applications. Typical physical aspects can go from fluffy crumbs to powder versions.

XEGLASS™ thermoplastic composites family represents the range of products highly reinforced with glass fiber on technical bases. Due to their stiffness and mechanical resistance, XEGLASS™ thermoplastic composites are used for specific structural applications which withstand stress and creep, maintaining great impact features. Greenplay® is an ecological TPE infill for synthetic turf, used for the realization of pitches and sport facilities installed with artificial grass. Greenplay is a SEBS polymer, produced with virgin raw materials; it is a round shape granule, free from dust and smell. Greenplay is a thermoplastic elastomer formulated and produced with completely nontoxic raw materials, suitable for food and skin contact, without dangerous substances, phtalates, heavy metals or allergens. Greenplay is patented in Italy and Europe and it complies with the standard DIN SPEC 18035-7:2011-10.
