    "We are an interdisciplinary team of sweetness fanatics, born from startups in Chile and Mexico. We are connected by a common passion; producing stevia leaves, extracts and sweet solutions which provide added functionality, reduced sugar, low calories and a great taste for our customers. What did we do? We realized that an excess of sugar is added into processed foods across the world. We envisioned the need to reduce that sugar excess through a 100% natural approach, without affecting the taste of the products we love. So we searched all over the globe and found a plant called Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni, which produces family of sweet compounds we refer to as stevia extract. What did we create? The first organic stevia production process, which is 100% aqueous during all stages of extraction and purification. We took on a challenge: Maintain the purity and the integrity of stevia from leaf to extract. We developed the first organic process for extracting and purifying this wonderful sweetener without the use of alcohol or enzymes. In fact, our stevia is 100% purified in water. If you want to sweeten anything from a cup of tea to your morning coffee or cake, we can do it 100% naturally and with fewer calories.We work to constantly improve our sweetness even further in quality and nutritional profile.     Welcome to Gateway Food Products, a family owned manufacturer and processor of vegetable oils, shortenings, corn syrups, flakes, custom blended oils and soy wax products. We formulate and package a variety of proprietary formulas from our wide range of bulk ingredients.

    Carroll Crosley founded Gateway Food Products Company in 1961, opening our first facility in downtown St. Louis. Carroll focused on manufacturing high quality products backed by friendly and reliable customer service. Carroll’s commitment provided the ground work for rapid growth. By 1978, Gateway Food Products had outgrown our facility and moved our operations to our current 25,000 square foot facility in Dupo, Illinois. In 1988, Carroll Crosley retired and handed over the leadership to his son, John Crosley. John has continued the traditions established by his father, spearheading our expansion and growth into new product lines.

    Gateway Food Products focuses on individualized customer service, catering to customers of all sizes without establishing minimum orders. This philosophy provides our customers a competitive advantage in the marketplace by allowing ease of entry into private label product lines and reasonable inventory management.

    "Our cheese making facility, located in Lena, Illinois, was built by William Thill in 1973 and was originally called Excelsior Cheese Factory. Duane and Cheryl Torkelson bought the property from Mr. Thill back in 1985 and started Torkelson Cheese Co. To continue the growth of the company, Duane and Cheryl partnered with Jamie and Lindsey White in 2008. Over the years, the Torkelsons and Whites have made many changes to the factories. A successful growth pattern has included increased storage capacities, modernizing the packaging process, enhancing our cheese making, and most recently, the completion of a new lactose production facility. Since 1986, Torkelson Cheese has earned twelve World Champion Cheese Awards, winning gold for their Muenster, Brick and Quesadilla cheese. In addition, Asadero and Apple Jack are other popular cheeses manufactured at Torkelson Cheese Co. Lindsey explains, “One of the secrets to our success is that we procure only the highest quality milk from local farmers.” For Torkelson Cheese, quality of our cheeses take first priority. Torkelson Cheese Co. uses all 100 percent natural ingredients – no added chemicals and no preservatives. “Quality really is our biggest concern,” Lindsey said. “I have two small children at home and we eat our cheese on a daily basis.
