AFCONA-4597 is a high molecular weight polymeric dispersant for the deflocculation of pigments in waterbased decorative and industrial paints. It is also very suitable for producing waterbased resin-free pigment concentrates. It prevents negative flocculation effects like flooding and floating, and it improves the storage stability. This product is recommended for all kinds of pigments, including transparent iron oxides. AFCONA-4597 stabilizes pigments through effective steric hindrance and electrical repulsion. This all result in concentrates with:
- Lower viscosities
- More stable dispersions
- Higher color strengths
- Better storage stability
In the final coating, it provides:
- No flooding and floating
- High color strength
- High gloss
- Good storage stability
- Strong water resistance
Note: for optimum dispersing effect, do not use resin in the grinding phase

Required amount of AFCONA-4597 active ingredient based on pigment weight:
- TiO2 : 2 - 3%
- Other inorganic pigments : 2 - 4%
- Organic pigments : 20 - 40%
- Carbon blacks : 20 - 60%
- Incorporation
AFCONA-4597 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.

AFCONA-4597 should be stored in a cool, dry place. When kept in its original, unopened container, it will keep up to 3 years from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is indicated on the container.
