• AFCONA - 2503 is an organically modified polysiloxane which is designed to give good defoaming, anti-foam and leveling performance in all waterbased applications.
• This product is effective as a defoamer in many waterbased coatings ranging from PU dispersion to normal acrylic-based decorative paint.

Product Uses

AFCONA – 2503 also performs well in high shear applications. Under a high-shear environment (such as long periods of grinding), it still maintains good defoaming and anti-foam performance. Thus, this product is very suitable to use as a defoamer in pigment concentrate preparation and high speed flexo printing process. Most defoamers available in the market will hurt the leveling properties of a coating, and leveling agents added to combat the problem will give more foam formation to the coating. But AFCONA-2503 acts as a defoamer which also provides leveling properties. AFCONA-2503 also will not give crater formation to the coating.

Incorporation

AFCONA - 2503 may be added at any stage of the production process.

Addition and Dosage

AFCONA-2503 should be added at 0.05 - 1.00% based on total formulation. Under normal conditions, 0.05 - 0.25% based on total formulation is sufficient. In pigment concentrate preparation, the normal dosage will range from 0.5 to 1.0% based on total formulation.
