Product Applications

AFCONA – 3030 is especially recommended as:

  1. A cost-effective slip and leveling agent for air-drying alkyd systems
  2. An effective anti-crater agent for polyurethane systems. This product may also reduce inner bubble sensitivity in polyurethane systems.
  3. A superior additive against Bénard Cells in all solvent-based systems
  4. A slip and leveling agent that is suitable for industrial heat-cured systems, where curing temperature is less than 170ºC
  5. An additive to the grinding phase to improve the wetting and grinding speed of pigments

AFCONA-3030 is not recommended for foam-sensitive systems such as solvent-free epoxy floor coatings (it may stabilize foam in these systems).

Incorporation
AFCONA-3030 may be added at any stage of the production process. When added during the dispersion process, it aids in pigment wetting.
Addition and Dosage
AFCONA-3030 may be added at 0.1 - 1.0% based on total formulation. Under normal conditions, 0.2 - 0.5% based on total formulation is sufficient.
