- AFCONA 4080 has the highest molecular weight of all AFCONA polyurethane dispersants. Thus, it performs well with organic red, yellow and violet pigments.
- AFCONA 4080 has a very low amine value, which makes it very suitable for making epoxy pigment pastes. It will not influence the shelf life of these pastes. In addition, the very high molecular weight of AFCONA 4080 further shields the amine group of the dispersant, making it have less contact with the epoxy resin in the pigment paste.
- AFCONA 4080 is often used for automotive OEM and refinish topcoats, epoxies, coil coatings and other high quality industrial solvent-based coatings. It may also be used in many of the newer types of high solid resin systems or oil-free polyesters to prevent flocculation problems.
- AFCONA 4080 is also a very effective dispersant for all kinds of UV coatings and fluorocarbon-based coil and can coatings.
- Note: AFCONA 4080 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not influence the performance of the product.

Addition and Dosage: AFCONA 4080 according to the dosages listed below, which should be calculated based on the percent of active ingredient in the dispersant and the weight of pigment in the formula:
- TiO2 : 2 - 3%
- Other inorganic pigments : 2 - 4%
- Organic pigments : 20 - 40%
- Carbon blacks : 20 - 60%
Incorporation: AFCONA 4080 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.
