This essential oil has established uses in perfumery. The citral components are said to be anti-infectious, antiviral, antiseptic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory and digestive stimuntant" (Webb). Published results from Wilkinson and Cavanagh (2005) demonstrate an exceedingly high in vitro zone of isolation result (>90mm) for Lemon Scented Iron Bark against Salmonella typhimurium.
