This product serves as a curative for different diisocyanates and their prepolymers. Furthermore, it can function as a modifier for amine or anhydride-cured epoxies, enhancing their flexibility.

POLYCAT® SA 1 is a heat-activated, delayed-action polyurethane catalyst that is based on a strong cyclic amine called 1,5-diaza-bicyclo (5.4.0) undec-5-ene. It consists of POLYCAT® DBU and an organic acid "blocker." At room temperature, POLYCAT® SA 1 has low activity, but when heat is applied, its activity increases and becomes comparable to that of metallic salts. When POLYCAT® SA 1 is added to conventional amine catalyst systems, it acts as a delayed-action catalyst. It has a minimal impact on the initial reaction and does not significantly affect the flowability of the foaming mass. Its primary effect is on the final curing properties of the foam, allowing for accelerated curing and improved demould time. This material is a light brown liquid with low volatility and a slight amine-like odor. It is miscible with water and soluble in most organic solvents.

KOSMOS® 16 is a strong gel catalyst for polyether-based systems, utilizing a combination of tin and bismuth. It facilitates a robust gelling reaction. It is sensitive to moisture and requires the correct handling during storage and production to maintain high performance.

POLYCAT® DBU is a powerful gel catalyst that offers excellent curing properties at high temperatures, specifically for artificial turf applications. It is a tertiary amine known as diazobicycloundecene (DBU), which greatly enhances the urethane reaction (polyol-isocyanate) in various applications such as semi-flexible microcellular foam, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers.

POLYCAT® SA 102 is a heat-activated catalyst that offers excellent front-end delay, activated at a thermo-activation temperature of approximately 60 °C (140°F). This catalyst is specifically recommended for artificial turf applications. It belongs to the category of blocked amine catalysts, which are known for their ability to provide delayed reaction profiles.

AEROSIL® R 974 is hydrophobic fumed silica grades treated with DDS (Dichlordimethylsilane). The moderate hydrophobicity of these AEROSIL® products is suited for defoaming properties in the presence of appropriate hydrophobic liquids. They are recommended for improving the sedimentation stability of defoamer dispersions as well.

DABCO® DC 1 is designed to delay the initiation of the reaction while ensuring a robust curing process by enhancing the urethane (polyol-isocyanate) reaction in various flexible molded polyurethane foams, making it particularly suitable for NVH applications. It is a suitable option for applications that demand lower or no emissions from amines.

KOSMOS® MB 16 is a catalyst composed of bismuth carboxylate. It finds applications in the production of 2K polyurethane elastomers, sealants, coatings, or adhesives. Compared to DABCO® MB 20, KOSMOS® MB 16 exhibits reduced sensitivity to residual moisture, resulting in shorter gel times and tack-free times. Additionally, it offers improved curing times and has a lower viscosity compared to standard bismuth grades.

POLYCAT® SA 8 is a tertiary amine utilized to enhance the urethane reaction either through heat activation or when combined with co-catalysts at ambient temperature. This product finds application in coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers, and composites. By using formulations containing POLYCAT® SA 8, it is possible to achieve an extended pot life comparable to that of mercury catalysts.

VERSALINK® 740 M is a high-performance diamine curative designed for mixed isomer liquid polyurethane prepolymers. It has also demonstrated its effectiveness as a curative for epoxy resins. POLYCAT® SA 2 LE is a low-emissive, delayed-action tertiary amine based on DBU. DABCO® 33 LV is the industry standard tertiary amine catalyst used to promote the gel (polyol-isocyanate) reaction in the production of flexible and rigid foam, as well as CASE applications.
