Features
  • HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 is used in the manufacture of water-base protective coatings as an effective liquid additive for inhibition of fl ash rust and in-can rusting. Testing has shown that HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 is highly effective at relatively low loading levels as compared to other fl ash and in-can rust inhibitors. HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 has demonstrated excellent fl ash rust inhibitive performance on various metal substrates ranging from iron, steel and galvanized iron to galvalume and zincalume. Evaluations have shown HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 to be effective for inhibiting in-can rusting in lined and unlined metal containers.
  • HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 is compatible with a variety of latices without causing fi lm sensitivity or package stability problems that can occur with other flash rust additives. HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 is also an effective additive for stabilizing metal substrates when using the water-blasting method of surface restoration.
  • HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 is easy to use and can be incorporated at any stage of coating manufacture. HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 can also be easily and effectively post added to any coating system; however, as with any additive, compatibility should be checked prior to use.
  • Flash Rust Corrosion Inhibitors are added to water based coatings in order to stop corrosion formation that occurs during the drying process. Without the use of Flash Rust Inhibitors, water soluble corrosion products migrate to the surface of the coating appearing as rust stains or spots. In addition to the flash rust protection provided by the entire line of HALOX® Organic Corrosion Inhibitors, we are proud to offer FLASH-X® products specifically designed to prevent unsightly staining which can ruin an otherwise perfect finish.
Advantages
HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 is a low-odor, low-foam formula that provides excellent performance on a variety of substrates ranging from cast iron, steel, galvanized to Galvalume™, and zinc aluminum. HALOX® FLASH-X® 150 may be incorporated at any stage of the paint manufacturing process and is effective for temporary passivation of metal substrates after water or media blasting.
