NATRASORB BATH is able to absorb and carry large quantities of oils and anhydrous liquids, such as bath oils. The starch is processed in a manner that creates unique 'pockets' that can carry the oils essentially in a solid, powder form. NATRASORB BATH starch is hydrophilic so that once the starch comes in contact with water, it immediately dissolves, releasing loaded oils, fragrances and/or emulsifiers, dispersing them into the warm water. The starch itself provides a soft feel to the bath water, but does not settle or leave a film.

Having a high capacity to absorb water and oil, a relatively low percentage is needed in cosmetic formulations. The stabilizing effect is not obtained by thickening, allowing for low viscous stable emulsions to be achieved. DERMACRYL 79 is a hydrophobic, high molecular weight carboxylated acrylic copolymer. DERMACRYL 79 is inherently moisture resistant — the polymer can be used in waterproof sunscreens as well as a variety of creams and lotions. It forms an excellent low-shine film for resistance to abrasion or rub-off and helps maintain active ingredients at the application site.
