Product Attributes

NORYL NHP5054 resin is a 20% glass reinforced blend of polyphenylene ether (PPE) and high impact polystyrene (HIPS). This injection moldable grade contains non-brominated, non-chlorinated flame retardant and carries a UL94 flame rating of VO at 0.75 mm for thin-wall molding capability. NORYL NHP5054 resin is based on a unique copolymer technology and exhibits good dimensional stability, high heat resistance, strong electrical performance, and very low specific gravity. Itis an excellent candidate for electric vehicle module and battery housings, automotive under-the-hood enclosures and components where thin-wall FR, modulus retention, and high heat resistance is required.

Note
  • ᵍ Measurements made from Laboratory test Coupon. Actual shrinkage may vary outside of range due to differences in processing conditions, equipment, part geometry and tool design. It is recommended that mold shrinkage studies be performed with surrogate or legacy tooling prior to cutting tools for new molded article.
  • ᵖ UL ratings shown on the technical datasheet might not cover the full range of thicknesses and colors. For details, please see the UL Yellow Card.
  • ⁷ Injection Molding parameters are only mentioned as general guidelines. These may not apply or may need adjustment in specific situations such as low shot sizes, large part molding, thin wall molding and gas-assist molding.
  • ¹³ This rating is not intended to reflect hazards presented by this or any other material under actual fire conditions. UL Ratings shown on the technical datasheet might not cover the full range of thicknesses, colors and regions. For details, please see the UL Yellow Card.
  • ¹⁵ Typical values only. Variations within normal tolerances are possible for various colors. All values are measured at least after 48 hours storage at 23°C/50% relative humidity. All properties, except the melt volume rate are measured on injection molded samples. All samples are prepared according to ISO 294. Only typical data for material selection purpose. Not to be used for part or tool design. The information stated on Technical Datasheets should be used as indicative only for material selection purposes and not be utilized as specification or used for part or tool design.
