Technical Details & Test Data
- Processing
As a guide the following temperature profile is recommended:
Barrel Zones Head Die Celsius 135°-171°C 177°C 179°C Fahrenheit 275°-340°F 350°F 355°F Screw – Compression ratio of 1.2:1 (maximum 1.8:1), metering screw designed for non-halogen thermoplastics.
Tooling Design - Tubing – double-angle die having DDR of approximately 1.5 and DRB close to 1.0.
It is recommended that THERMODAN® HF TP343NT be pre-dried in a heated desiccant system prior to processing for approximately 4 hours at 140⁰F (60⁰C). The recommended target dew point is -40⁰C.
These conditions may depend on the equipment being used. It is recommended using conveyors and tools shaped
in order to prevent stagnation in the head. In case of prolonged shutdown, purge the extruder with LDPE.
Packaging & Availability
- Packaging Information
The physical form is free-flowing pellets, and the compound is available in 2000 lb (907 kg) gaylord boxes or 300 lb (136 kg) fiber drums.
Storage & Handling
- Storage and Handling
Due to the moisture sensitivity of the material it is packaged in a heat-sealed moisture-impervious liner. SĀCO AEI suggests that the following points should be considered when storing the materials: -
- ambient temperature generally not exceeding 85°F (30°C)
- avoid direct exposure to sunlight and weathering
- once the heat-sealed moisture-resistant package has been opened it is suggested that the entire contents be used
