Tinopal® CBS-X is a 4,4'-distyryl biphenyl derivative, a fluorescent whitening agent that absorbs UV radiation and re-emits visible blue light to compensate for the yellowish appearance of natural fibers. It has high solubility and produces a high level of whiteness and brightness even with short washing times over a range of cold to medium temperatures.
