- AFCONA – 2050 offers very strong defoaming and anti-foam performance with good compatibility in many resin systems.
- AFCONA-2050 is suitable for solvent-based coatings, printing inks and thermosetting resin systems. It eliminates foam and blistering, regardless of whether the air bubbles are caused by the substrate.
- In most cases, the de-aeration performance of AFCONA-2050 is satisfactory. If greater de-aeration is required, use this product in combination with silicone-containing defoamers such as AFCONA-2023 or AFCONA-2045 at 0.1-0.2%.

- Product Uses
AFCONA-2050 is particularly suitable for use in the following applications:
- Nitrocellulose lacquers and acid-cured wood finishes, especially those applied by curtain coaters
- Two-component polyurethane lacquers that are applied by spraying or brushing (except for high gloss clear due to the defoamer’s high incompatibility)
- Cold-cured epoxy resin systems, as well as unsaturated polyester systems (SMC, BMC and gel coats)
- Heat-cured finishes applied by curtain coater and dipping
- Other solvent based system where in-can transparency is not important, such as colored and matte systems
- Incorporation
- As a strong defoaming agent, AFCONA - 2050 should be incorporated during pre-mix. If added subsequently, good dispersion must be ensured.
- Addition and Dosage
- 0.1 - 1.0% on total formulation. Under normal conditions, 0.20 - 0.50% based on total formulation is sufficient.
