AFCONA-3238 does not stabilize foam, so it is often recommended for the foam-sensitive systems listed below:
- Solvent–free epoxies
- High solid or solvent-free polyurethanes
- Paints applied by curtain coater
- Paints applied by airless spray application
- UV curing systems
- Incorporation
- AFCONA-3238 may be added at any stage of the production process. However, its defoaming properties require high shear force for proper mixing if it is added in the letdown stage. For easier incorporation, dilute to 10% in any solvent/s.
- Addition and Dosage
- AFCONA-3238 may be added at 0.05 - 0.50% based on total formulation. Under normal conditions, 0.05 - 0.2% based on total formulation is sufficient.
