AFCONA-5065 is very effective, offering performance close to that of a high molecular weight dispersant. It is recommended for medium to high polarity systems, such as PU, UPE, UV, NC, heat-cured paints and acid cured systems. This product is also widely used in printing ink. It is not recommended for air - drying alkyds, because of potential incompatibility with these systems. AFCONA – 5065 offers the following special properties:
- AFCONA-5065 can be used as an additive for post addition to correct flooding and floating. It will re-flocculate inorganic pigments to the same degree as the organic pigments so that they can move at the same speed. Using this method to solve flooding and floating will sometimes reduce the gloss of the dry film, especially when the dosage is higher than 0.8% on total formulation.
- AFCONA-5065 is also widely used together with high molecular weight dispersants such as AFCONA-4010, AFCONA-4050 or AFCONA-4046, to make an effective co-grinding dispersant. The ratio to use in this case is 1:1 to 3:1 (High Mol. Weight Dispersant: AFCONA - 5065).
- AFCONA-5065 is not compatible with white spirit or paints which are diluted with white spirit.
Note: AFCONA – 5065 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not influence the performance of the product.

AFCONA-5065 should be stored in a cool, dry place. When kept in its original, unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is indicated on the container.
