Key Features: Pangel OMD1 is an easy-to-disperse self-activated organobentonite, that is recommended for providing the following properties in solvent-borne systems:

Thixotropic and pseudoplastic effects

Sag control

Excellent leveling

Prevents pigment from long-term storage settling

No need of pregelling or the use of polar activators
Product Highlights: Pangel OMD1 does not require neither strong mechanical energy to disperse nor a polar activator to achieve a suitable dispersion. It is recommended to disperse Pangel OMD1 before surfactants and wetting agents.

Pangel OMD1 can be added at any point in the paint manufacturing process. Post addition is also valid to correct the final viscosity of a given formulatioon.

Pre-gelling is not necessary to develop full rheological properties of Pangel OMD1. Pre-gels of Pangel OMD1 do not show the same viscosity organobentonites, but they confer the same rheological properties to the final than conventional systems.

Pangel OMDI shows particularly good performance in aliphatic and aromatic solvents.
Dosage: The addition levels depend on the type of system and the degree of thickening or other properties desired. Addition levels are typically between 0.2 to 1.5%.
