DeCAL 1209 can be used as a thickener and rheology modifier for many aqueous adhesive, paint and coating compositions.

Application Method

• DeCAL 1209 is active over a wide pH range and requires no additional alkali. The product should be added directly to the coating mix with high efficiency mixing in order to avoid localized thickening.
• DeCAL 1209 will generally thicken quite rapidly, but the rate of activation is dependent upon temperature, speed of mixing and medium to be thickened.

DeCAL 1209 provides highly efficient thickening power in water. However in the presence of high electrolyte concentrations we suggest that the use of DeCAL 1209 will give improved long term stability.

Storage Condition

• It is recommended to store DeCAL 1209 at temperatures above 10°C to enable easy handling of the product.
• DeCAL 1209 is stable for more than 1 year at 20°C in closed containers. It can become highly viscous at low temperatures.
