Eucalyptus Kochii, formally known as Eucalyptus Horistes or commonly as Eucalyptus West Australian Mallee, is a species of mallee and is endemic to Western Australia. Eucalyptus Kochii typically grows to a height of 8 m (26 ft), rarely a tree to 12 m (39 ft), and forms a lignotuber. It has rough, flaky or fibrous, light gray to brown bark on the trunk and larger branches, smooth gray to pink bark on the thinner branches. The leaves of the Eucalyptus Kochii have a natural 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol) content of 90 – 95% the highest 1,8-cineole level of all the Eucalyptus’s and there are over 800 species of Eucalyptus’. Conventional or organic available Orange Oil or Orange Sweet Oil is a versatile oil with a refreshing, sweet citrus aroma. This popular oil is uplifting and energizing. Oranges are believed native to the tropical regions of Asia, especially the Malay Archipelago. Orange probably spread from its native habitat to India and the east coast of Africa and from there to the eastern Mediterranean region by the Roman conquests, who developed the Arab trade routes. By the time Christopher Columbus sailed, orange trees were common in the Canary Islands. Today oranges are cultivated in subtropical and tropical America, northern and eastern Mediterranean countries, Australia, and South Africa. Orange plants arrived in Australia along with the early convicts and still thrive in all States and the Northern Territory. Orange Sweet oil is extracted from the fresh fruit peel by cold expression. Orange blends well with Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cypress, Cedarwood, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Myrrh, Neroli, Pettigrain, Rose, Rosewood, Rose Geranium, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Lemon, Clove, Cinnamon and Nutmeg.

Conventional or organic available A versatile and often underrated oil, Cajeput oil has many applications. It has an uplifting, clean fragrance with antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. A member of the Melaleuca family, Cajeput oil is steam distilled from the leaves and lateral branches of the Melaleuca Leucadendron Cajuputi. The name Cajeput derives from the Malaysian word ‘kayu-putih’ meaning white wood. The tree is highly regarded in the east and has many therapeutic and herbal uses, and was widely used by Indigenous Australians in traditional medicine including the treatment of aching joints and respiratory issues.

In ancient Indian culture, Sesame oil has been used to treat different health and skin conditions for thousands of years. The oil is pressed from the seeds of the sesame plant, an annual originally found in Africa and India, but now grown widely around the world. It was known to the ancient Egyptians, Chinese and the Romans. Sesame seed oil can be used as a general-purpose oil and it suits most cosmetic applications; Creams, lotions, body butter; sun care; massage products; soap; bath oils. Sesame oil is high in zinc which helps produce collagen in the skin. The oil contains an antioxidant called sesamol.

Holy Basil Oil also known as Tulsi Oil is extracted through steam distillation from holy basil (Ocimum sanctum) an aromatic shrub in the basil family. Originating from India it is now grown in Australia, West Africa and some Middle Eastern Countries. Tulsi meaning the incomparible one it has been used throughout India in spiritual rituals and in Ayurvedic practices. It is a tonic for the body, mind and spirit and is grown for its aromatic, medicinal and spiritual purposes.

Sea buckthorn is a thorny shrub found along the Atlantic coast of Europe and throughout Asia. This plant sprouts leaves, fruits and seeds which are all used for traditional medicinal and remedial applications. Sea buckthorn oil is derived from the fruit that grows on this plant. Sea buckthorn oil has become increasingly popular in natural skin care as it contains over 190 nutrients and phytonutrients. This nutritious berry has twelve times the amount of Vitamin C than oranges, just as much Vitamin E as wheat germ and three times more Vitamin A than carrots. Sea buckthorn also contains Omegas 3, 6, 9 and 7, along with many other nutrients and antioxidants. Seabuckthorn oil is composed of seed oil that is rich in essential fatty acids, linoleic and α-linolenic acids, and pulp oil that contains high levels of monounsaturated palmitoleic acid. It is known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, pain relief, and promotion of regeneration of tissue.

Conventional or organic available Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) is a highly branched, herbaceous, thistle-like annual plant. It belongs to the Asteracese family. It is commercially cultivated for oil extracted from the seeds. It is described as a bushy herbaceous plant possessing several branches. Plants are 30 to 150 cm (12 to 59 in) tall with globular flower heads having yellow, orange, or red flowers. Each branch will usually have from one to five flower heads containing 15 to 20 seeds per head. Safflower is native to arid environments having seasonal rain. It grows a deep taproot which enables it to thrive in such environments. Safflower is one of humanity's oldest crops. Chemical analysis of ancient Egyptian textiles dated to the Twelfth dynasty identified dyes made from safflower, and garlands made from safflowers were found in the tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamun. Safflower was also known as carthamine in the nineteenth century. Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) production commenced in Australia during the 1950’s. American safflower material was successfully introduced and adapted to Australian conditions by Australian breeders located in Biloela, Queensland and after just four years, over 4046 hectares in Central Queensland were sown to safflower.

Conventional or organic available A versatile, lightweight carrier oil, Grapeseed Oil is produced from cold-pressing the seeds of the grape – a byproduct of the production of wine. It is jam packed with antioxidants, high amounts of Omega fatty acids and vitamins. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Grapeseed Oil is high in Vitamin E and C, this combined with is high levels of Omega fatty acids, mainly Omega 6, it is highly moisturizing and great for skin hydration. It is highly valued as an ingredient in skin care and body care products and is also great in hair care products. Due to having very little odor, it is often a preferred carrier oil for use in the formulation of massage oil and essential oil blends.

Conventional or organic available With its fresh energizing aroma, Eucalyptus Blue Mallee is a standout amongst the eucalypt family, with a consistently high Cineole content and for its antiseptic and antibacterial qualities. Native to Australia, Eucalyptus Blue Mallee is found in south west New South Wales and upper western Victoria, where it thrives in semi-arid conditions. It flowers usually in March to June. Eucalyptus Blue Mallee is one of the major species used for Eucalyptus Oil production. Eucalyptus Blue Mallee has been used by Indigenous Australians for thousands of years to assist wound healing and to help treat respiratory issues. Cananga (Cananga odorata var macrophylla)is closely related to Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata var genuine). The oils are quite similar, as the plants are from the same genus and species. Cananga has a beautiful but more subtle floral aroma than Ylang Ylang and has a more woody note. They have slightly different chemical compositions. Cananga has higher amounts of beta-caryophyllene. It is a soothing and calming oil. It has a middle/base note. Canaga oil is highly prized in the perfume industry and is a favorite in cosmetic products. The Cananga tree is native to Indonesia, Malaysia and The Philippines. The oil is produced from the steam distillation its yellow flowers. The flowers are picked early in the morning to ensure maximum oil yield.

This unique carrier oil has a light fruity aroma and is high in essential fatty acids and has an incredible antioxidant content. Red Raspberry Seed Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the red raspberries, mainly cultivated in the temperate regions of Europe and North Asia. Being so high in Omega 3, and 6 make this an extremely rich and moisturizing oil. It is also high in phytoserols which make it a great addition to sun protection products. Conventional or organic available Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin), sometimes called the scent of the sixties, has a musky, earthy, exotic aroma. Native to Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, Patchouli is now cultivated in tropical and sub-tropical regions around the world. The oil is widely used as a fragrance in India and as an insect repellent. Patchouli is used in herbal medicine in Asia as an aphrodisiac, antidepressant and antiseptic. It is also used for headaches and fever. Its aphrodisiac effects come from it having a very similar molecular structure to human pheromones. Patchouli essential oil is often used in aromatherapy to treat skin complaints. It is thought to have a regenerative effect on skin tone and to help clear conditions such as eczema and acne. The oil may also be used for varicose veins, acne, cold sores, skin irritations, prophylactic, fungicidal and hemorrhoids. It is interesting to note that Patchouli improves with age and that the aged product is what is often preferred over the freshly harvested

Conventional or organic available The Avocado Tree is an evergreen native to Mexico and Central America but now grown worldwide. The fruit is a berry, consisting of a single large seed, surrounded by a buttery pulp. Avocado oil is obtained from the cold press of the fruit pulp, which is rich in vitamins, minerals, nutrients and fatty acids. The oil is usually a dark green color with a thick feeling texture. It has quite a strong fresh, sweet and nutty aroma. A highly moisturizing oil, Avocado oil has been embraced by the cosmetic industry and is a very popular product with a variety of uses.

Mimosa Absolute also known as Silver Wattle and Blue Wattle, is extracted from the fuzzy yellow blossoms of Acacia dealbata plant, native to Australia. With its sweet, floral and slightly woody aroma, Mimosa Absolute Oil is a perfumery must-have and an unanimous favorite of aromatherapists and perfumers alike. It has a relatively widespread natural distribution in south-eastern Australia. It is native to most of eastern New South Wales, the ACT and most of Victoria (in mainland Australia it is most common near the Great Dividing Range from the Ben Lomond Range in northern New South Wales to the Grampians in western Victoria). It is also widespread and common throughout Tasmania. There are approximately 1,300 Acacia species worldwide with 1,000 native to Australia. The Mimosa flowers are harvested in March and April when they are in full bloom the absolute is a thick, yellow sticky consistency. With a beautiful floral, fruity note.

Conventional or organic available With a strong, clean, purifying citrus scent, Lemon Oil is light and refreshing, with many uplifting benefits for the mind, body and soul. The word lemon is derived from the Arabic laymun and Persian limun (words, which were generic terms for all citrus fruit). The exact origin of the lemon has remained a mystery, though it is widely presumed that lemons first grew in India, northern Burma, and China. In South and South East Asia, it was known for its antiseptic properties and it was used as an antidote for various poisons. The Arab conquerors took the Lemon with them around the Mediterranean basin introducing it around AD 1000 and 1200 into Sicily, Spain and North Africa where it quickly adapted to the Mediterranean climate. The fruit was well known in Europe by the middle ages, and Greeks and Romans were advocates of its therapeutic properties. Lemon essential oil reached the height of its fame when the British began using the citrus fruit to counteract the effects of scurvy. It was introduced to Australia by the Early Settlers. It is extracted from the fresh fruit peel by cold expression. Lemon oil blends well with many other essential oils making it a popular oil for herbalists and those who practice the healing art of aromatherapy.

Conventional or certified organic available Extracted from the kernel of wheat grains, wheat germ oil is a rich source of vitamin B6, folic acid, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, and many other essential nutrients. In fact, it contains 23 different nutrients. Wheat germ oil is made from the germ of the wheat. The grain consists of three parts – the husk, the germ and the endosperm – and it is the germ that is used in the manufacture of the oil.

Flaxseed oil, also known as Linseed oil, is the expressed oil from the dried ripe seed of the Linseed, Linum usitatissimum L., Linaceae. It contains the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which the body converts into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which is the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil. Some researchers think flaxseed oil might have some of the same benefits as fish oil. Flaxseed is the richest plant source of the ω-3 fatty acid i.e. α-linolenic acid (ALA) It is low in saturated fatty acids (9 %), moderate in monosaturated fatty acids (18 %), and rich in polyunsaturated fatty acid (73 %). Of all lipids in flaxseed oil, α- linolenic acid is the major fatty acid ranging from 39.00 to 60.42 % followed by oleic, linoleic, palmitic and stearic acids which provides an excellent ω-6:ω-3 fatty acid ratio of approximately 0.3:1. Although flaxseed oil is naturally high in anti-oxidant like tocopherols and beta-carotene, traditional flaxseed oil gets easily oxidized after being extracted and purified.

Australian Blue Cypress is native to Australia and grows in the Northern Territory (including Melville & Bathurst Islands), northern Western Australia, Cape York and northeast Queensland. It is a medium to large sized tree, from 15 to 45 meters in height. The timber is very aromatic, resistant to termites and splits quite readily into fine chips or kindling for lighting cooking fires. Australian Blue Cypress essential oil is extracted via steam distillation of the stem and branches. The trees are harvested and are then steam distilled for around 48 hours. The harvesting of quite big trees requires heavy machinery and a long distillation process which both add significantly to the cost of the oil. Resinous compounds in the bark react during distillation with other aromatic compounds to create guaiazulene, an anti-inflammatory compound similar to chamazulene that gives the essential oil its dark blue color.

This Organic Australian Hemp Seed Oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of organically grown hemp. Hemp seed oil is great for the face, hair and body. The oil can be used in most cosmetic applications such as creams, body butter, massage products, lotions and so on. It can be applied after a shower or bath as when you massage your body with hemp seed oil it will nourish the skin. As it is a carrier oil (also known as base or vegetable oil) it is a great base oil for essential oils –about 5 drops every 10mls average depending on the oils.

This soothing, versatile, multi-purpose vegetable oil is pale yellow in color with a mild odor. A gentle oil, it has valuable moisturizing properties and is useful in skin care and hair care products.

Conventional or organic available Juniper Berry Oil has a well-liked refreshing, yet warm and subtle balsamic aroma with many therapeutic benefits. Juniper berries themselves are high in flavonoid and polyphenol antioxidants that have strong free radical scavenging abilities. Because they were seen as protectors of health — both emotional and physical health — during the Medieval period, juniper berries were believed to help ward off witches. In fact, for years French hospital wards burned juniper and rosemary to help protect patients against lingering bacteria and infections. A juniper berry is the female seed cone produced by the various species of junipers. It is not a true berry but a cone with unusually fleshy and merged scales, which gives it a berry-like appearance. The cones from a handful of species, especially Juniperus communis, are used as a spice, particularly in European cuisine, and also give gin its distinctive flavor. Juniper berries may be the only spice derived from conifers.

Conventional or organic available The Almond tree (Prunus dulcis) is a member of the Rosaceae (rose) family, along with many other tree fruits such as peaches, apples, pears, plums, cherries, and apricots. The almond is a small bushy deciduous tree with beautiful pink blossoms and highly prized edible nuts enclosed in a hard green hull. It’s a small to medium sized tree with a spreading, open canopy, usually 10-15 feet in commercial orchards. It is an excellent, self-pollinating almond that bears heavy crops of soft-shelled almonds with a good, sweet flavor. The kernels are broad, full and oval in shape. The tree has an upright form that is a self-pollinating papershell. Almonds require a climate with dry summer/autumns and cool winters. Almond and related species are native to the Mediterranean climate region of the Middle East. The original plantings and beginning of the almond industry in Australia occurred in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. The industry expanded into the South Australian Riverland in the 1960s and then along the Murray River in the 1970s. The Australian almond industry is concentrated in NSW, SA and Victoria with almost 29,000 ha of cultivated almond trees.

It is often considered a must-have oil to keep on hand at all times due to its versatile uses. Lavandula (common name lavender) is a genus of 39 known species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is native to the Old World and is found from Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, southern Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast India. Many members of the genus are cultivated extensively in temperate climates as ornamental plants for garden and landscape,culinary herbs, and also commercially for the extraction of essential oils. The most widely cultivated species, Lavandula angustifolia is often referred to as lavender, and there is a ‘color’ named for the shade of the flowers of this species. Lavender oil is extracted mostly from the flowers of the lavender plant, primarily through steam distillation. The flowers of lavender are fragrant in nature and have been used for making potpourri for centuries. Traditionally, lavender essential oil has also been used in making perfumes. The oil is very useful in aromatherapy and many aromatic preparations and combinations are made using lavender oil.

This precious absolute is made by solvent extraction of the flowers of the Hyacinthus orientalis, a small, herbaceous perennial plant, that flowers in early spring. The bell shaped flowers can be pink, purple to white and the plant is primarily native to the Mediterranean region and tropical Africa. The absolute is extremely precious due to the limited cultivation window of the flowers, and the low yield per flower. Hyacinth Absolute is a valuable ingredient in the perfume industry, and as a fragrant component in products. This refreshing and invigorating absolute also has antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties and is considered calming, balancing and comforting.

Allspice, also known as Jamaica Pepper or Pimento, is a large evergreen tree that features fragrant bark, leaves, flowers and berries. It is native to the West Indies, Caribbean and Central and South America. It is now grown commercially in Jamaica, Mexico and Trinidad amongst others. The oil comes in two varieties, Allspice Leaf and Allspice Berry, both steam distilled. Allspice Berry Oil has a lower Eugenol content than the leaf oil. It is the more expensive of the two oils, and is considered a safer oil due to its lower Eugenol content, and has a more pleasant aroma. With a yellow to brown color and a warm, sweet yet spicy aroma, it is similar in smell to clove and cinnamon, and reminiscent of fall/winter. It has antifungal and antiseptic qualities, and the aroma compliments masculine fragrances.

Honey Myrtle (Melaleuca teretifolia) is a unique species from Western Australian. Its essential oil is rich in citral (typically 70 – 85%). This essential oil has a beautiful fresh, sweet lemon fragrance with soft citrus undertones with a hint of honey notes coming through. It presents a pleasant and surprising complexity not usually associated with the more traditional lemon-scented essential oils.

Balsam is the resinous exudate (or sap) which forms on certain kinds of trees and shrubs. Balsam (from Latin balsamum gum of the balsam tree, ultimately from Semitic, Aramaic busma, Arabic balsam and Hebrew basam, spice, perfume) owes its name to the biblical Balm of Gilead. Copaiba Oleoresin is a unique, gentle oil that is tree tapped from the Balsam of the Copaiba tree to produce a pure, undiluted oleoresin with absolutely no additives or fillers. Copaiba Balsam resin is extracted from the wild trees which are found mainly in the South American rain forests – particularly in Brazil, Columbia, Peru and Venezuela. It is the further refined to produce the oil. The trees have large branches and can grow up to 18 to 30 meters in height. The resin is harvested by tapping or drilling holes into the trunk of the tree much like tapping maple for syrup. Although this resin is often referred to as balsam, it is not a true balsam but an oleoresin. A single Copaiba tree can provide about 40 liters of oleoresin annually, making it a sustainable rain forest resource that can be harvested without destroying the tree or the forest in which it grows. When tapped, the initial oily resin is clear, thin, and colorless; it thickens and darkens upon contact with air. Commercially sold resins are a thick liquid, with a color that varies from pale yellow to golden light brown. The variety gathered in Venezuela is said to be thicker and darker in color.

Conventional or organic available A very popular and enriching, deeply moisturizing, versatile carrier oil – Evening Primrose oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the Oenothera biennis plant. This plant is native to North and South America and has beautiful yellow flowers. Evening Primrose is also known as the Night Willow Herb, as its flowers open in the early evening. For centuries, this oil has been used by the Chinese and Native American cultures and in Ayurvedic medicine. Evening Primrose contains beneficial ingredients such as, Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA), Linoleic Acid (LA), both part of the Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids that are very moisturizing and extremely beneficial for the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties and is soothing for problem and inflamed skin. Evening Primrose is a favorite in skin care products.

Frankincense, used for its therapeutic and healing properties, is a well known essential. It is obtained through a steam distillation process from the Boswellia tree which belongs to Burseraceae plant family. With golden yellow flowers and feathery leaves the plant grows to a height of 2 meters. It is a perennial herb tree which is known for its sweet and spicy fragrance. Frankincense Frereana typically grows at higher elevations, giving this oil a unique chemical makeup. The variety is high in pinene, thujene and cymene giving it a great anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antispasmodic and analgesic properties. Frankincense Frereana essential oil also commonly known as Maydi is the “King of all Frankincense. For thousands of years, spiritual leaders have used Frankincense during worship and meditation. Spirituality and nature are deeply intertwined. Frankincense- Frereana essential oil is both of the earth and of something deeper, something beyond human understanding. This Frankincense essential oil was introduced to Europe by Frankish Crusaders more than 6000 years. It has been traded on the Arabian Peninsula, Greek Herodotus was familiar with it and in the 13th century Chinese writers wrote on the origin of frankincense.

Most people will know Manuka for its honey, but the plant also produces a beautiful essential oil. With a fresh, herbaceous, crisp aroma, Manuka oil has been used for centuries to ease muscular aches and pains, to soothe and moisturize skin, and promote healing. Leptospermum scoparium is a fast growing, small tree is native to New Zealand and parts of Australia. The oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves and small branches. This versatile oil is a powerhouse, with antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory properties among others, with a subtle, calming scent. Manuka oil is a valued ingredient in a wide variety of products including skincare, wound care, hair care and body care, plus products targeting skin irritations and fungal issues. Conventional or organic available Moringa oil comes from the seeds of the Moringa oliefera, a plant native to the foothills of the Himalayas. An adaptive plant, it is now grown throughout India, Egypt, Africa, Pakistan, Jamaica, Cuba and Hawaii. The plant itself is very drought-resistant plant — which means even without rain, moringa trees keep going strong and survive dry condition. The seeds of a moringa tree have a high oil content, are very nutrient-rich, and are packed with antioxidants. It is a dense light colored oil with an earthy, slightly nutty odor. It has a high levels of fatty acids and nutrients. Because of its almost long list of benefits for the hair, skin, and body, Moringa oil is a popular ingredient in cosmetics and dermatology.

Eucalyptus globulus is the primary source of Eucalyptus oil around the world. Blue Gum (Eucalyptus globulus) belongs to the Myrtaceae family, an evergreen tree native to Australia. The natural distribution of the species includes Tasmania and southern Victoria. They typically grow from 30–55 m (98–180 ft) tall. The leaves are steam distilled to extract eucalyptus oil - one of the world’s most familiar essential oils and is the best known and most used of all eucalyptus oils with its refreshing and distinct aroma. Like other citrus oils, Clementine is rich in the cleansing chemical component Limonene. In Ancient times Clementines were referred to as the “crown jewel” of the Mandarin family. The clergyman Pierre Clement is credited with crossing a Mandarin and an Orange. This coupling resulted in a seedless mandarin with loose skin and a smooth and shiny appearance. Clementine is another variety of mandarin like Tangerine. It is sweet and easy to peel. It is grown commercially in Algeria, China, Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Brazil, Egypt, the United States, Iran and Argentina.
