Gallnut Extract is a multifunctional skin conditioning agent extracted from the galls of Quercus infectoria, a small tree or shrub, that contains 80% polyphenols. This ingredient has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, astringent, and antioxidant properties. Its antioxidant properties have DPPH radical scavenging activity greater than vitamin C and oxygen radical absorbing capacity (ORAC) and Hydroxyl Radical Averting Capacity (HORAC) slightly greater than Grape seed extract.
