L-PCA is obtained by the cyclization of L-glutamic acid, an amino acid of plant-based origin. The lauryl alcohol and behenic alcohol used as starting materials are also of plant-based origin.

Laurydone® is the lauric ester of L-pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (L-PCA), obtained by the cyclization of L-glutamic acid, an amino acid of vegetal origin. It forms a hydrolipidic film on the skin's surface, limiting water loss and hydrating the skin deeply. This product is suitable for lipophilic stick formulas, such as lipsticks.
