AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. LUMIFLON® LF-200F is a moderate molecular weight, moderate hydroxyl number resin consisting of alternating fluoroethylene and alkyl vinyl ether segments (FEVE). This product has been developed in flake form in order to enable formulators to meet VOC and HAPS regulations. This resin can be dissolved in VOC and HAPS exempt solvents such as acetone, Oxsol® 100, t-butyl acetate, and dimethyl carbonate to meet the strictest air quality requirements. LUMIFLON resins are used to make ultra-weatherable coatings for architectural, aerospace, automotive, and industrial maintenance markets.

This waterborne polyol is classified as a dispersion as it is synthesized without emulsifier. It is typically used to formulate coil coatings where flexibility and excellent weatherability are required. The major market where LF-600X finds application is the architectural market. However, LF-600X is also being used in ambient cure applications where high coating flexibility is required, for example, in coatings for plastics.

This resin is ideal for producing multi-layer structures in a one-step process without the need for surface treatment or a separate adhesive layer. LH-8000 offers the lowest melting point of all the AH series resins, yet with the same desirable properties of other ETFEs, including non-stick, excellent processability, and superior chemical resistance.

LF710F resin has hydroxyl functionality allowing for crosslinking with polyisocayanates or amino curing agents. Powder coatings based on LF710F exhibit excellent durability in exterior weathering exposure, resisting chalk, color fade, and gloss loss. LUMIFLON LF710F is supplied in flake form. It is soluble in various common solvents and may be used in high performance solventbased coatings. It may be used on a variety of substrates requiring long term weatherability. FEVE resins tend to have good adhesion to metal. Depending on the service environment, they may be used to coat directly over metal without the use of primer.

The perfluoro backbone gives the material excellent electrical characteristics, and heat and chemical resistance, while the adhesive functionality facilitates adhesion to other materials in a one-step process, without the need for surface treatment or a separate adhesive layer. Example materials include glass cloth, polyimide, or various metals. This grade is semi-commercialized and may be available upon request. This material is supplied as pellets and packaged in 25kg plastic bags.
