Daesang America, Inc. Protam

Daesang America, Inc. Protam is mainly composed of dried bacterial cell mass, which is produced during the manufacturing process of lysine. Its availability is more efficient than lysine cell mass in terms of nutrient digestibility for livestock and aquaculture. Bacterial cell mass from lysine fermentation has the potential to be used as an alternative, high-protein source - one of the costliest ingredients in animal feed. Please find more information on https://ingredient.daesang.com/s/?language=en_US

Features & Benefits

Key Features & Benefits
  • Rich in certain amino acids such as lysine and methionine.
  • Improved pepsin digestibility by specific fermentation process with advanced fermentation technology.
PROTAM as Partial Replacement for Protein Source
  • High protein ingredient for animal diet
  • For overall period (starter and finisher) in broiler, weight gain and feed intake were higher in all single cell protein (SCP) groups (SCPI, SCPII, SCPIII) than control group (p< 0.05)
  • As the level of SCP was increased, feed conversion ratio (FCR) was also increased (Table 2).
  • Compared to fish meal, PROTAM have a higher proportion of lysine and threonine (Table 2).
  • Certain amounts of traditional protein sources can be substituted by SCP without impairment to the performance of pigs (Braude et al., 1977; Hanssen and Farstad, 1980).
  • SCP replacing 50% of fish meal in diet with identical nutrient levels could obtain similar performance, nutrient digestibility and intestinal morphology in weaned pigs (Zhang et al., 2013).
  • SCP could act as a rumen undegradable protein source for host ruminant animals (Data not shown) (Seo et al., 2008)
