Willy Benecke

Willy Benecke Carnauba wax is the name given to the natural palm wax of the Brazil-based Copernicia prunifera (synonym: Copernicia cerifera). Carnauba wax is available in different forms (powder and flakes) for different applications.

Willy Benecke GUM ASAFOETIDA is the gum resin of various plants of the genus Ferula (in English: stick herbs), in particular the species Ferula foetida and Ferula assa-foetida. These plants are native to the barren and arid regions of Central Asia. The ferula plants belong to the Apiaceae family, which also includes the genus Daucus known in German as carrots.

Willy Benecke shellac is a hard, brittle resin produced by the female lacquer louse Kerria lacca. The louse, which is mainly native to India, sucks the sap from the tree and excretes it again as resin.

Because of its heat and drought resistance, it is mainly native to the Mediterranean region. Spain, Italy and Portugal are the main producing countries. The legume tree has large, black-brownish, curved pods with a bulging edge and a leathery skin. The beans contained in it consist of about 30% husk, about 25% seeds and about 45% endosperm.

Willy Benecke RUBBER STYRAX is the rubber of the tree species Styrax officinalis. "False" Styrax (also called Storax) is the name given to the rubber of the Liquidambar tree genus. The fragrant tree rubber of two tree species is referred to as Styrax rubber. It is to be distinguished from benzoin gum, which is also harvested from trees of the genus Styrax.
