End Uses: Primer

CYMEL® 1141 resin is a highly methylated/iso-butylated, carboxy-modified melamine crosslinker provided in iso-butanol. It's specifically crafted for electro-deposition primer formulations, excelling in corrosion protection and resistance. Featuring chelating groups, it forms colored compounds with heavy metal ions like iron and zinc. Consequently, it's recommended for use in dark single-coat applications or primers and is not suitable for pastel colors. Serving as a crosslinking agent, it finds application in primer formulations for automotive OEM coatings, coil coatings, industrial coatings, and metal coatings.
