Product Applications
  • To solve the vertical leveling problem, AFCONA – 3034 is often used in combination with other fluorocarbon-modified acrylic leveling additives. These combinations may also solve critical crater problems.
  • AFCONA-3034 is extremely compatible with most paint systems and can be used in both water - and solvent-based industrial coatings. The advantage of improved substrate wetting (caused by reduced interfacial tension) is often accompanied by foam stabilization. Therefore, it is appropriate to use this product in conjunction with suitable defoamers.

AFCONA – 3034 is recommended for:

  1. Plastic coatings like PU, UV and thermoplastic acrylic system. It offers good leveling as well as improved substrate wetting. It eliminates several common problems seen in plastic coatings, such as cratering and leveling issues.
  2. Industrial heat-cured systems where anti-crater and vertical leveling are needed.
  3. Other solvent-based coatings where anti-crater, substrate wetting and vertical leveling are needed.

AFCONA-3034 also can be use in water-based systems for leveling, anti-crater and slip performance.

Incorporation
AFCONA-3034 may be added at any stage of production process.
Addition and Dosage
AFCONA-3034 may be added at 0.05 - 0.5% based on total formulation. Under normal conditions, 0.05 - 0.2% based on total formulation is sufficient.
