HALOX® CW-491 is a white, non-refractive, heavy metal-free pigment used as a corrosion inhibitor in protective coating systems. It is versatile and can be used with a variety of solvent and waterborne resin systems. The recommended loading levels for HALOX® CW-491 vary depending on the type of system used. For waterborne systems, the recommended loading levels range from 5–8% based on the total formula weight, while for solventborne systems, the recommended loading levels range from 7–12% based on the total formula weight.

Advantages
  • HALOX® CW-491 contains no zinc or other heavy metals and therefore has a low specific gravity. It also maintains a neutral pH and can withstand outdoor (real world) corrosion performance. HALOX® CW-491 can replace zinc chromate-based corrosion inhibitors.
