Features & Benefits

Labeling Claims
Features and Benefits
  • CRISP COAT ® 964 modified starch is of particular interest to pet food manufacturers because of rubbery and chewy texture achieved on extruded/molded products.
  • CRISP COAT ® 964 modified starch is of interest to canned gravy and meat chunk type of pet food where high enough filling viscosity is required to suspend the meat chunks and to allow one -shot filling in the process.
  • It can be used in combination of other starches providing final viscosity and texture to the finished products.
  • CRISP COAT ® 964 modified starch is an excellent solution for grain -free pet food products which don’t necessarily require “Natural” labeling.
  • CRISP COAT ® 964 modified starch is also recommended to replace wheat flour partially and hydrocolloids entirely in most of noodle formulations when reconstitution and texture are concerned.

Microbiological Limits

Initial testing is done on a single composite sample against a limit of m. If result is above m, the three class sampling and acceptance below is used.

  n c m M
Total Plate Count/g 5 3 10000 100000
Yeast/g 5 3 200 1000
Mold/g 5 3 200 1000
Enterobacteriaceae 5 3 100 1000

Where n = # of samples tested; c = maximum allowable number of results between m and M; m = upper target limit; M = maximum acceptable value.
