AFCONA-6225 is an updated version of AFCONA – 6220. It offers better dispersing performance as well as better color acceptance in decorative paints. AFCONA – 6225 has the following special properties:
- AFCONA-6225 works as emulsifier - it can emulsify water into solvent-based coatings. This is especially helpful in long oil alkyds, where it can improve the color acceptance of universal commercial colorants.
- The combination of AFCONA-6225 and AFCONA-4560 is recommended to formulate universal colorants for decorative and industrial waterbased paints.
- This product is an economic and effective dispersant for waterbased systems.
- AFCONA-6225 acts as an activator for Bentonites and associated acrylic thickeners.
Note: AFCONA – 6225 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5°C. This will not influence the performance of the product.

Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient based on pigment:
Universal colorants:
- 5 - 10% for inorganic pigments
- 10 - 20% for organic pigments
Base paints - 0.5 - 1.5% on total base paints
Bentonites/thickeners - 15 - 25% on active substance- Incorporation
AFCONA-6225 may be incorporated in the mill - base or used as a post-additive for color acceptance.

AFCONA-6225 should be stored in a cool, dry place. When kept in its original, unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is indicated on the container.
