Technical Details & Test Data

Mechanism of Action

Coffea robusta ows its name to its ability to withstand its environment thanks to its high concentration in xanthic bases (caffeine) and polyphenols. The development of Robustyl® aims to boost skin physical resistances and to fight against microbial aggressions. Thus, it ensures a good robustness and the protection of the skin barrier:
- helping form well-structured tissue with greater expression of the genes coding for differentiation markers (cytokeratin, caspase 14 and transglutaminase),
- facilitating mechanical communication (i.e. cohesion) between cells by stimulating synthesis of an adhesive protein, desmoglein, and relocate it to the junction anchors,
- developing the skin's defenses against bacteria by increasing expression of a gene coding for an antimicrobial peptide (psoriasin).
