Application Details
  • ELASTOSIL® NT 76 is a general purpose silicone rubber for textile coating applications, like manufacturing of conveyor belts, electrical sleevings, protective clothing, bellow expansion joints, awnings, sunblinds, sports performance fabrics, airbags and medical fabrics.
  • Due to the low viscosity and the non-thixotropic rheology ELASTOSIL® NT 76 is especially suited for fine coatings. It can also be used to dilute other liquid silicone rubbers to adjust coating viscosity.

Processing

  • ELASTOSIL® NT 76 is processed by thorough incorporation of a crosslinker.
  • Recommended ratio is 100 parts of ELASTOSIL® NT 76 plus - 3 parts of CROSSLINKER 525
  • Recommended curing conditions: 3 min at 150°C or 1 min at 180°C
  • Adhesion of ELASTOSIL® NT 76 depends on substrate and can be varied by crosslinker type/amount and additives (e.g. CATALYST C05 or adhesion promoters). Preliminary testing should be carried out to determine optimum formulation and cure conditions.
