Application Details

ELASTOSIL® RD 6600 F is a silicone rubber dispersion in xylene. It is well suited to produce textile coatings with good penetration into the substrate and dry surface touch (e.g. conveyor belts and electrical sleevings). ELASTOSIL® RD 6600 F can also be further diluted with solvents and used for fine coatings with low add-on weight.

Processing

  • ELASTOSIL® RD 6600 F is processed by thorough incorporation of a crosslinker.
  • Recommended ratio is 100 parts of ELASTOSIL® RD 6600 F plus - 1 part of CROSSLINKER W Pot life at 23°C: 3 days
  • Recommended curing conditions: evaporation of the solvent at 70 - 90°C and curing of the silicone rubber for 3 min at 150°C or 1 min at 180°C.
  • Adhesion of ELASTOSIL® RD 6600 F depends on substrate and can be varied by crosslinker type/amount and additives (e. g. CATALYST C05 or adhesion promoters).
  • Preliminary testing should be carried out to determine optimum formulation and cure conditions.
