SILRES® BS 60 is a water-dilutable, solventless emulsion of a silicone resin that serves as a binder in the production of silicone resin emulsion paints and plasters. It is primarily used as the main binder in silicone resin emulsion paints and renders. When formulated correctly, products utilizing SILRES® BS 60 exhibit desirable properties, including high permeability to water vapor and CO2, low water absorption, low susceptibility to soiling, a mineral-like appearance, and a long lifespan. These characteristics contribute to the overall performance and durability of the finished products.

Application Details

SILRES BS 60 is employed as the main binder in silicone resin emulsion paints and renders. If formulated properly, the products made with it are characterized by high permeability to water vapor and CO2, low water absorption, low soiling tendency, a mineral appearance and long life. An excellent beading effect is also achieved if SILRES® BS 1306 is added. Facades must be primed before painting for optimal protection. We recommend high quality SILRES® BS primers.
